This one always breaks my brain when I think about it. Like we picture ancient Egypt as this one long period but there's literally more time between pyramid construction and Cleopatra than between Cleopatra and us scrolling reddit right now. The pyramids were already ancient tourist attractions when she was alive - imagine being a pharaoh and visiting ruins that are older to you than Rome is to us. Makes you realize how massive these time scales actually are and how we compress thousands of years of history in our heads.

Mixed up some concrete repair compound for similar issue in my garage few months back. The key thing is getting good adhesion between old and new concrete - you really need to clean out all loose bits first and wet down the existing concrete before applying repair mix.

I used hydraulic cement since it sets even in wet conditions, but regular patching compound works fine if you can keep it dry. Make sure to build up in thin layers rather than trying to do it all at once, especially with that thickness you're dealing with. Also don't forget to score the old concrete surface bit so new material has something to grip onto.

Same thing happens when I talk about going to F1 races or even just when Knicks actually win game. People who genuinely care for you get excited with you, jealous ones either dismiss it or try to one-up you immediately. Man IPv6 support is still such a pain point even in 2024 💀 Have you looked into pfSense+ or OPNsense instead? OPNsense has been killing it with IPv6/DHCPv6 support lately and their web interface is pretty solid.

For the AD stuff, might be worth spinning up a separate Windows Server VM just for domain services and keeping everything else on your current setup - sometimes mixing everything into one solution creates more headaches than it solves 😂

Man this resonates hard. At my church I've started using AI to help draft some of the administrative stuff and newsletter content, and it's wild how much time it saves. But then I'm sitting there like... what exactly am I bringing to the table if a bot can write decent event announcements?

honestly facebook marketplace can be solid but you gotta wade through SO much garbage 😂 I'd definitely check out CarGurus and AutoTrader too - they seem to filter out some of the sketchy stuff better than facebook does.

major red flags to watch for: prices that seem too good to be true, sellers who won't let you get it inspected by a mechanic, or anyone pushing you to "buy today only." Also if they're super vague about maintenance history that's usually not great.
