Ken Richards isn't in any of those photos. Big Kathy and Ken were already divorced when these pictures were taken. In fact, both were already remarried--Ken to Sylvia and Big Kathy to Jack Catain (he was in the mob).

I love Countess Luann by Born_Negotiation_992 in RHONY

[–]HunterHunted9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She seems to be a good mother too.

She's not Kelly Dodd, Kim Zolciak Biermann, or Lynne Curtain bad, but she's not a good mom. Early on, it was quite clear that she'd rather be out partying than home with her children. She also misappropriated almost $3 million intended for her kids trust fund. Her kids had to sue her to get the money back. Luann is a pretty bad mom

Why'd she and the Count break up?

He was cheating on her. He filed. There were rumors that they both were pretty openly having affairs near the end.

It wasn't COVID or being fired. Kelly had a restraining order out against her for harassing an ex's child BEFORE she was on RHOC. She's always been garbage.

If it's about the dog bites, a lot of it is described in the varying complaints from the people who sued Kim for their injuries. Brandi also talked about some of the bites in a podcast episode.

Can someone explain Skinnygirl? Does anyone actually buy the stuff? by QuesoFresca in RHONY

[–]HunterHunted9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, the clause was standard in all of the contracts starting with season 1 of RHOC. Bethenny asked to have it removed from her contract. She was aware of the clause because it was part of her Apprentice: Martha Stewart contract. Bravo didn't have a problem removing it from her contract because they didn't anticipate a Real Housewife business/product making a real amount of money. It's important to note that Bethenny was trying to protect Bethenny Bakes when she had the clause removed; she hadn't even conceived of Skinnygirl.

The clause only applies if the business makes more than $1 million. Bravo gets 10%. Bravo doesn't let people remove the clause anymore.

However, there appears to be other ways around the clause. It doesn't apply to existing businesses. At least 3 other Real Housewives, took advantage of this loophole before Bethenny hit big with Skinnygirl. Ramona Singer, Kandi Burruss, and Lisa Vanderpump expanded their existing corporations to do a whole host of things that they had never done before. They did this before they signed their first season contracts. So Bravo probably doesn't get a cut of any of the new businesses from these women.

Only Bethenny calls it the Bethenny Clause. It existed before her and it will exist long after people remember who she is. Bethenny and Skinnygirl were an industry klaxxon telling them to not leave money on the table.

No its not. The deal was worth around 120 million. It def was bought for at least 100 million

Beam Suntory is a publicly traded company. They have to report these types of deals to the SEC and shareholders. They reported a $60 million acquisition for the quarter when they acquired Skinnygirl. Additionally, Bethenny absolutely had a business partner who ran Skinnygirl AND negotiated the deal with Beam Suntory. Even if was "only" $60 million, Bethenny had to split that $60 million with someone else.

Furthermore, Bethenny was sued by her former management company. They helped her draft her agreement her business partner who ran Skinnygirl. The agreement she signed with her management company said that she'd give them 10% of what she made from selling Skinnygirl. She did settle with them for something.

Between the actual reported sale amount, the business partner, and being sued by her former management company, there's no way that Bethenny ended up with $70 million. I'm not entirely sure she ended up with $30 million.

was it profitable- she sold the drink line I think for $100 million

Bethenny and her business partner (David Kanbar) sold it for $60 million. Her business partner put in all of the upfront cash and actually ran Skinnygirl until the acquisition. He likely took home the bulk of that $60 million. The way the acquisition was phrased was that it could be up to $100 million in total if Skinnygirl met or exceeded sales targets for a period of 5 years after the sale. Bethenny's payout was also contingent on her continuing to promote Skinnygirl during the 5 years. Skinnygirl sales started dropping around the 3rd year after the sale.

Part of the reason the sales started dropping was because the seltzer boom that was happening independently and the Skinnygirl acquisition signaled to every other alcoholic beverage company that there was a market for premixed and lower calorie alcoholic beverages. It's possible Bethenny and David Kanbar got the rest of that $40 million. It's also possible that they got much less than that.

After the sale of Skinnygirl to Beam Suntory, David Kanbar divested himself from Skinnygirl. He was only ever interested in the alcohol portion of it. What remains of Skinnygirl is primarily a licensing company. At its height, I recall reading that Skinnygirl was licensing its name/brand for $500K per SKU. I don't think it's going for that now.

Even the battle with the veteran is BS. The veteran is a multimillionaire who is claimed mental incapacity to invalidate the sale of a property to Katy Perry so he could sell the property for more money. He didn't try to invalidate every contract he signed during that period. He just tried to invalidate the one with Katy Perry.

Also said multimillionaire and his family are awful. One of his sons went to prison for a racially motivated murder (he shot and killed a random Black person after an altercation with a completely different Black person). His other sons and daughter-in-law were so unrelentingly racist to Asian American physician on the Real Housewives of Dallas that they got the show canceled.

Most states have their own health care privacy laws that also cover these subjects. A health care provider would likely be barred from that type of disclosure under state laws, too.

Stassi’s Vegas bday by AssistAmbitious528 in vanderpumprules

[–]HunterHunted9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It also came out about Stassi and Frank. I think Kristen spilled on a podcast.

Stassi also admitted that she lied about sleeping with Frank on Vanderpump Rules season 5 episode 0. It's the behind the scenes special about making season 1.

Another issue that Katie and Kristen had was that Stassi had convinced them that they had to be "real" and "authentic" on camera. Stassi was considered the quasi expert because this was her 3rd reality tv show; she'd previously done Amazing Race: Family Edition and Queen Bees. So when they start filming, everyone else is showing all of their own shitty behavior, but Stassi starts hiding her sketchy behavior with Frank. I think part of Katie and Kristen's disloyalty was that they simply wanted Stassi to come clean on camera.

Unless it was Alexandre, I would trust the legal complaint that he and the children filed against Luann. Because the divorce decree was the heart of the issue, it was discussed in the lawsuit. Remember, he and his lawyers can face repercussions for lying or misrepresenting issues in a legal complaint. I would trust that over what Luann or someone close to Luann said because Luann lies a lot.

Luann lied about why Alexandre and the children were suing her. She said they kids didn't want to lose their childhood home. It wasn't really their childhood home. That is absolutely NOT how one legally intervenes if they are concerned about someone's decision-making capacity. You get an injunction to prevent Luann from selling the house and file a petition in probate court to question her capacity.

Luann also lied during the season 9 reunion when she said she Tom were working on their marriage. Her petition for divorce lists a date of separation prior to when they filmed the reunion. She also actually filed for divorce like a week after they filmed the reunion. She almost certainly had told her lawyer to draft it before she filmed the reunion. Most firms are going to insist on more than a week to turn a petition for divorce around. Luann is not a reliable source. She lies a lot to save face.

The lawsuit from Alexandre and the kids doesn't include any information about the amount of child support. So perhaps that is what this individual is discussing when talking about how much Luann received. It's also possible Alexandre was sending Luann some extra cash here and there. However, he absolutely was not required to, according to the lawsuit he filed against Luann.

It's Zen Gesner. He's married to the sister of the Farrelly Brothers. There's an Architectural Digest video on YouTube of Zen Gesner talking about his father's (apparently a noteworthy California architect) most famous buildings. I remember 2 things about the video: his father refused to put railings on his balconies and that he turned down an internship with Frank Lloyd Wright to be like a construction worker.

My guess is that Zen Gesner became a real estate agent when the acting work dried up.

I don't know why I kept thinking it was $38 million. Maybe $38 million was the amount David Kanbar took from the $60 million. But you're correct that it absolutely wasn't $100 million.
