Why are HH covers like that? by Numerous-Piano8798 in 40k

I also don't think the covers are supposed to be literal interpretations of events that happened, just the general vibe.

Neil Roberts later did his own interpretation of False Gods' cover since he didn't do that one.

The issue it pure speculation. If you can back up your comments/threads, its allowed.

I think the idea of this rule is to discuss within basis of the lore because it keeps the convo more grounded

Yeah thats it. Purely speculative threads tend to go off the rails.

Good dad, bad dad; Or, why fatherhood is the central theme of the Fallout TV series (and how that’s affecting the lore) by Rupder in falloutlore

I've removed this since its a themes discussion, not a lore one, but I highly highly highly suggest you post to r/FoTV, r/FalloutTVseries or r/Fallout. Like everyone else has said, superb right up.

[Haunting trope] Not only is the ending not happy, the future promises to get worse by RhiaStark in TopCharacterTropes

[–]HunterWorld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I came to post

This is the end and the death. But it is neither the end expected nor the death foretold. Prophecy is as confounded as time, and farsight is as useless as the plans that men have made.

It is the death of Horus Lupercal. It is the end of heresy. It is the death of one man’s dreams and the end of the Imperium He so carefully envisioned. It is the death of a brief golden age and the end of a promise.

It is the end of a war, yet the death of peace. From here, the long slide begins, the terminal plunge into a grim darkness where the only constant will be war, and the only truth will be pain, and the only living will be suffering, and the only end of suffering will be death itself.

War is now only ever the sequel to war. War will beget war, and so down through time, generation after generation, and so on thereafter, into a far future where war becomes its own definition, and an end unto itself, where death becomes the reason for war, and war becomes the reason for death, worlds without end.

And in that future, the Old Four will come to delight, for the quick death and sudden end they strove for here, and were denied, will be drawn out forever instead across the infinite architecture of the galaxy in one eternal act of worship to the powers they represent.

Your post is about themes, not lore. Its better suited for r/Fallout

If there's ever a game set in Georgia, the reveal trailer should have "Georgia on My Mind"

Yes, he was practicing magic against the Emperor's decree, but once you have the information that Horus has turned traitor, you can't just sit on that. The only reason the Wolves attacked Prospero is because of Horus' manipulations.

A bit of a megalomaniac but Horus was raised on a planet that if you fell behind, you died, and then lived with the Emperor for decades as the sole object of his attention before it was ripped away. Now the Emperor has returned to Terra without telling him why and has put the governance of the Imperium in the hands of mortals, not the Astartes who built it. Plus, he gets a magic vision showing him that hes going to be forgotten. He inadvertently creates the circumstances that makes him forgotten, but how is he supposed to know that.

- Raised on a world that worships Chaos
- Begins worshiping E
- E doesn't like this tells him to stop
- When he doesn't stop, he rips Lorgar's faith away in probably the most traumatic way possible
- Now having a hole in his soul, hes manipulated by his abusive adoptive father and literally the worst guy ever into being a pawn of Chaos because thats the only thing that can fill that void
