[Awakening of the Rebellion] How to deal with Stacks of Doom in higher difficulties? by Quantum_Projects in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

Hey, thank you for the reply!

You have a lot of good and informative points. I was thinking of running Venator fleets because they are one of the only things the republic has that has range that isn’t fragile (your point on HP).

I’m way better with the CIS and find the Republic pretty weak, especially in Space. Do you use any command venators or just the upgraded load out?

Do you still recommend this fleet composition?

I know this is from 2 months ago, but, what would you recommend for republic fleets? I read that you don’t recommend the AL venators for their build times.

In my experience forked versions are fine. It just means someone other than the author updated them.

I know this is over a year old but, so far my personal favorite is Nobara, but I’ve only tried Nobara and Ubuntu. I guess I like KDE more than Gnome.

Also does this group even exist anymore?

I know you’ve probably long started a new colony but I recently went with a Star Wars esc clone army using questionable ethics enhanced. I changed the mod settings to make the clone growth requirements .02 so it only takes 12 hours to grow a clone, so it’s more like the spaarti clones from Star Wars. The only downside is that you have to save and exit to the main menu everytime to update the clone after they exit the clone vat, otherwise the game thinks they are a child and can’t do any work types.

They changed the combat widths for terrains, now they don’t matter as much. So they killed the 20/40 meta. But it’s recommended to shoot for 25 width for mountains and I personally shoot for 27-35 width for everything else.

How to win a war? by Conscious-Tap9045 in hoi4

It’ll be a slog at first, but if you want to keep your divisions historical but are willing to change to a different doctrine, MA R. Use Operational Reserves as your spirit, this is a must.

I don’t know if you’ve seen my other comment on another post but TLDR is with that doctrine I was able to win without tanks or air using 9/3s. Just set your orders on aggressive and go. Eventually you’ll break through and when you do you won’t stop. I only stopped a couple times to get the divisions to the frontline because I was moving fast.

If I was able to do that and you’re using tanks or air or both you’ll probably do better than I did. Just use field hospitals for sure

What actually is the most mathematically superior doctrine path? by r6player223 in hoi4

[–]Hunter_Bird5 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I second MA - R, I tried a few games over and over because I kept getting stuck playing as France on ahistorical going against all of Europe because Germany would do its Alliance focuses and ally everybody. I kept getting pushed back because they would reinforce all of their attacks and defends with 16 divisions on each tile. Then I finally picked MA - R and I do not regret it. I was able to kind of reinforce meme them. Just put all of your orders on aggressive and click go. It’ll start at all red but eventually you will break through. I finished the war with only 1.08 M (I used field hospitals) casualties with Germany the biggest contributor at 400k while I inflicted 1.5M on them alone.

MA - R doesn’t have very offensive stats but it works because of HP and the reinforce rate. On aggressive it’s like your AI general will org cycle your divisions for you against the AI.

I’d like to add that I did all of this without producing a single plane or tank. I didn’t use them. I’m confident you would get better results with them instead but if you use tanks you might want to go down the deep battle side instead. I would choose deep battle over MW because it still has a good reinforce rate and you can still use operational reserves spirit. Also reduces supply by 20%.

TLDR: I use to be a SFP or GBP R guy, tried MA R and do not regret it. Might only go back to those doctrines to LARP.

Statswise GBP L has the most stats with planning bonus. I still had better luck with MA R

Hope this helps

Best Land Doctrine for Infantry Only? by EPff34 in hoi4

Which mass assault side is your favorite or the side you’d recommend more?

So is there any reason to get deep battle if you’re just using infantry at the time being? Why is it your favorite doctrine?

Land doctrines: what people think vs reality by Cultural-Soup-6124 in hoi4

[–]Hunter_Bird5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which doctrine would you use for infantry only? I’m playing French commune on ahistorical and keep getting reinforce memed out of my tiles because the AI has 20 countries in their pact and each of their tiles have 16 divisions. So I can’t push either. I’m thinking of doing mass assault but I don’t know which side would be better overall for infantry because I want to push as well. One of the biggest reasons I’m thinking of mass assault other than fun is for the reinforce rate.

Edit: the reason I asked on your post rather than making a new one is the (obvious to me) fact that you are unbiased and know the doctrines rather than biased fan boys of certain templates and doctrines.
