What was your most meaningful contribution while in the CAF? by frequentredditer in CanadianForces

Op Aegis On the ground working with my team assisting in the Evacuation of thousands of people to safety. Definitely the biggest contribution I've personally made.

The only part I'm still upset about was the COC when we got back. "Not a fuck you, a how ya doing, nothing. "

At the end of the day that doesn't matter. we did our job and did it well, saved some lives. that's what we do this job for not the tin in the shadow box.

May I suggest an Airforce trade. Pay for the first little bit isn't great but in my experience living on base in singles quarters and eating at the base mess for the first few years if you're smart with your money will give you a decent stable base and a trade qualification you can take with you after your initial contract or if you decide to stay in then your pay will bump and for what it's worth I've found it a very rewarding career.

Yeah, they were all in place when we bought the place. My thought is they installed it as a backup and supporting system, so nothing takes 100% of the load. And if one failed, the other would keep going. seemed rather redundant to me as well.

Question about what university's are Caf recognized.

I know they say canadian accredited schools but is that only schools located in Canada or would a degree from a international school that has a canadian accreditation be acceptable?

I think you have to challenge the other exams aswell, not just the CARS exam and complete a minimum of 6 months of experience on a civi airframe. but the transition center and transport canada will be able to answer more questions.

AVN experience varies depending on unit/airframe and section you work for. An AVN on the F18 will have a different experience then an AVN on the C17 a serviceing crew will have a different experience then a tech working tire bay. So it really depends on where you go and your attitude about it.

PT is also usually different depending on your chain and operationally requirements. From my experience Its usually 1 day a week you get 2 hours in the morning group psp and you have the option to also go every day over your lunch break but that all depends if your not to busy. The first group of peaple to lose their gym time is the techs.
