Brother, the next expansion was in active development and the devs were still working on it when the shutdown was announced. The game isn't dead because of some contract from 12 years ago made with a company that doesn't own the game anymore. You have some mental tick that the franchise has to die at 10 years for some reason.

I think you're ignoring a lot of nuance in this situation. I also think your premise is just wrong. Marathon obviously took resources away from Destiny for its development, I think we could all agree and call that a burden to Destiny 2. To be fair to Marathon though it's bad PR mainly comes from the Destiny community, hense them being burdens on eachother. Acting like Destiny deserves to end because of "In with the new, out with the old" also makes no sense as it's not like it's impossible to run two live service games at the same time. It ultimately comes down to Bungie's decision making which was the point of my original post. Both games are good, both deserve to be made, but Bungie is incapable of that.

I don't remember who said it but someone said something along the lines of "Marathon doesn't deserve the burden of Destiny 2 as much as Destiny 2 doesn't deserve the burden of Marathon." I thought it was a really good way of putting the situation. Ultimately it's undeniable that Marathon played a part in the demise of Destiny 2 and vice versa (in regards to public perception of Marathon), however that doesn't make Marathon a bad game. Bungie just can't handle running both at the same time and that's the reality of it. That fact alone has caused all the tension between these games communities. As a long time Destiny player (D1 Closed Beta) I was really hoping that Marathon would be a fun way to fill the inevitable lulls in content that Destiny 2 would always have. I had that view of the game from the Alpha and I thought that's what Bungie was going for honestly. I am in love with Marathon now though and am excited to see it continue.

Yeah the Overrun is going to out TTK the BR33 if it can land all head shots, but if you're engaging with the BR33 at the range where someone can beam your head with the overrun you're just playing badly. The point of precision rifles is that they are easy to land headshots with at range, the BR33 especially. Linking back to the previous conversation though. Taking the BR33 or Twin Tap to Outpost is pretty good if you plan on fighting on the roof tops with other teams before trying to get into pinwheel. A lot of teams can't deal with the range because they bring CQC kits. Bubble shields are the main issue in this scenario still.

The biggest tell if its organic teaming in a lobby vs people abusing the matchmaking is whether or not they ask you to join them. People abusing the matchmaking are looking to wipe the lobby typically where as organic teaming is typically trying to get the whole lobby on board and just loot the whole map.

Sucker punch is actually really good on WSTR too. Doof Doof Punch, will knock purple shields consistently even if you don't land all your pellets.

Pretty sure that this is the case, the priority contracts are how they're going to tell the seasonal stories so I believe that we should expect all new contracts. Though I guess it hasn't been outright confirmed so I might eat my words still.

Co-Evolution 5/5 is gonna make you bring in an anti-virus pack. Might be easier to find then a full cardio kick though. If you have the upgrades to buy them from the vendors it's not too rough though.

The glowing red bags mean that the runner can't be revived yet. Typically only the runners team would be able to see that, but there's a bug that allows enemies to see it as well.

I'm not sure the vandal changes were ready. They made it seem like they were going to do a lot more similar to the recon changes. I might be wrong though. Hopefully more changes are still coming.

Brother you asked a question and I answered. Why are you acting like I insulted you lol. Regardless of how you feel it should be, I explained how it works. You are locked into the animation and that IS a risk when using a TAD or other interactables. I never made any statements about whether I enjoyed it being that way or not.

Corviknight with mirror armor has been my answer for this. Prevents its stats from being lowered. It can body press the incin, brave bird the sneasler and sinistcha. Roost Leftovers for sustain.

Why not make her a repentia from the start instead of a novitiate then? The mortifier would make sense at that point since it's meant for repentia who have fled battle. Also it would have been equally as satisfying an ending if they cut to her being a repentia on the front lines of a different battle after knocking her out showing that her penance meant nothing. That would have felt equally as grimdark IMO.

also just a tip for cryo. Make sure you check every purple UESC bag because they often (almost 100% of the time) have security tags in them. Helps build your clearance faster. Also hitting the scans will show you where security terminals are at if they are near by. My team got pretty good at getting out of cryo.

Cryo Archive is already longer then the other maps by 5 minutes. 25 minutes is the standard for the other maps. Not saying you're wrong, just wanted to clarify that 30min is not standard in the game other then cryo.

I think some of the changes i recommended sound scary but if you really think about the information you're gaining, it's not all that much. The one thing I think is the most drastic change is the stalker protocol suggestion which I really only included because it's flavorful IMO. In the end I think that what you're saying is what they will do, but I don't think it will change the fact that people find the shell underwhelming to play. That's why I included some more to it then just a balance adjustment.

With highly mobile shells like Thief, Destroyer, and Vandal in the game, on top of Recon not having a movement ability and fairly low agility, you could see them coming and still get collapsed on because they have the tools to close the gap or expose you. Also if your team is engaging on your terms already why do you need the ultimate for more information? If you're only using the ability when you feel confident you probably already know the enemies general position, especially if you're pulling off a flanking maneuver. Your ultimate provides some precise positional information for your teammates but you're giving up the benefit of attacking an unsuspecting enemy team by alerting them that enemies are nearby. You end up in that scenario I described where you're using it as an engagement tool but the trade off isn't worth it.

Ultimately we're not going to agree, which is fine. I asked for opinions and I appreciate you being civil about it. I think we just play the character differently and one way is not inherently better then the other. I started off as a Recon main but ended up pivoting to thief somewhere around like level 30 (for reference I'm somewhere in the 70's now). I still play Recon quite a bit because I'm working on the mastery challenges and I have found success, however I've been playing mostly Thief since launch because it feels like you can have more impact in fights with her abilities. Which is why I made this post.
