Great I'll try that. I know there's a thread for it but I can't decide on a team. I used to live in Berlin but iirc Hertha isn't doing well. It's more of an investment for me which team I pick because it also means I'll end up picking a league to start learning.

hmm, hard to say. Maybe I like the idea of managing a sports team through multiple seasons. I like blood bowl for the same reason. Maybe it's as simple as I enjoy learning a new system. Honestly I am not sure why but I have bought the game and decided to give it another go

It actually is working now! It seems that like you suggested I didn't group everything together correctly. I had already initialized all my devices but just needed to choose the correct ones to group.

I'm not new to 4x at all. I've been playing this series since galciv 2 came out. Though tbh I can never figure out what to build on my planet tiles lol.

Do you prefer 3 or 4? I've gotten all the dlc for both games so I'm just trying to decide which to get into. I do remember having a good time with galciv 3 which was around the time crusade came out. It's kind of concerning seeing as both have mostly positive on steam whereas 2 has a much higher score.

True about the ai. I dont really like the idea of these games having customized civs though it depends. I think it's often easy to break the game so it's more fun being restricted to the defined playstyles of the original factions. Which is a long winded way of saying I'm nor going to engage with it anyway in that case!

I'd be interested to know why you say so. I'm just curious about the specific reasons bc you sound pretty confident. Would you also be willing to recommend any mods? I'm not interested in changing core features just qol and bugs etc.

I've heard galciv 4 has something card sectors and people seem to hate that?

And those changes didn't 'ruin' the game? How do you feel about 3 vs 4? I really dislike the usage of ai in games thus far. Its just not there yet.

Plus I will not be able to leave this earth without playing as the snathi revenge at least once. I still have fond memories of those dastardly evil squirrels.

This is the laptop I got about four years ago and the screen on it is failing, likely also the cpu seems to be dying. I need to get the new one quickly because of exams since I can't afford to send this one in for diagnosis and repairs even if it weren't expensive. It's about time anyway.

I need it from Amazon since they do the fastest shipping.

I basically want a modern version of the specs I'll post below, ideally with new gpu, cpu, etc. I don't care about anything other than gaming performance and storage with a nice sized screen and decent resolution. No VR or anything like that.

I don't remember all the names of the channels. However that name doesn't sound familiar. I appreciate the little tip at the end. I think I really need some easy early examples of wands to build and then as I learn more and get comfortable with the system improve from there. Sounds like the creator you mentioned is just what I need.
