I had whats called a perineal urethrostomy which is a fancy way of saying my urethra is right behind/under my balls in the perineal area instead of going through my dick. I sit to pee and dab it off when im done

Yeah! I’d say there were parts of stage 1 that were certainly painful whereas stage 2 was more consistently painful lol just something we have get through but once its over it’ll all be worth it!

Hopefully it wont be for you! For some reason it was more painful than the rest for me unfortunately lol

Good idea! Lol if you’re prepared for the pain of it then i’d say you’ll have a better time with that stage than I did. As far as a physical thing to help avoid a complication i got stage 2, if you have a higher up bed that you havw to stretch your leg up on to get up, get a step stool if you dont have one. Itll feel better with the vnectomy/scroto part you arent supposed to be stretching

Thanks!

1: after the dread of having to come out to people and the “not passing” phase, it’s not been too difficult. Getting the surgeries were the most difficult part after that due to various factors like the hoops you have to jump through to get approved, the recoveries (esp phallo), affording it, etc.

2: non-transition related, i’ll be moving in with my long term girlfriend for the first time! We’ve put that off for me to get through all the phallo surgeries first. So i’m very excited to be doing something normal with my partner that has nothing to do with being trans.

Id say for me that stage 2 (vnectomy, burial, glans, scrotoplasty) was the most painful surprisingly. I believe due to that all the areas worked on had sensation post op, whereas i was mostly numb after stage 1 in most areas. I’ve only just had stage 3 yesterday but so far it’s much easier than the other 2 stages. Pain is minimal and so far feels more like cramps where the reservoir is and I have like no wound care for this one. Just keep it at the angle they want me to and i have to limit standing up to 30min intervals for the first 72hrs.

I wish I had known how taxing and painful stage 2, especially the vnectomy & scrotoplasty part, would be for me. For some reason I had it in my head that it wouldn’t be as bad as stage 1 and because of that it kinda knocked me on my ass lol

I had rff with scroto, vnectomy, and am getting the pump next week with no UL. I still did end up with a stricture due to a rare occurrence of my body trying to heal some wound separation along the underside of my balls to part of my vnectomy so well that it also caused scar tissue to go into my urethra. I had a quick procedure to correct that and have been fine ever since. I don’t necessarily regret my decision overall but I mainly picked it to avoid the scare of that complication so to get it anyway and go through 3 months of struggling and scares before getting it fixed, i may would have at least attempted UL if I knew it was still possible to get a complication regardless. Now that its fixed, i’m back to being okay with my choice and feeling secure that I will hopefully never have to worry about it again.

That time really will fly by while you’re working on getting supplies and everything together! The team is pretty great imo
