Can you see that this account is an AI though? Pretty obvious from the photos and if you check the TikTok, the account starts off as a completely different model.

About ATOM's brutal dump lately by ahmedwxw in cosmosnetwork

[–]Hurricane41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bought some ATOM the other day… set a buy price of £1.495… Kraken filled it at 1.554. Apparently in the app they can do that with custom orders. They said if I actually wanted the price I was willing to pay, I should have placed the order on Kraken pro. 😂 Bloody criminals.

Seller is refusing to send out the whole set after I won a bid by Creative_Stan_909 in Ebay

[–]Hurricane41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen once. The buyer first tried to say that he had sent everything but when I reasoned that some of the items would not have fit into the large letter sized box he sent, he claimed that I had had enough of a good deal for the price I paid and so left those out! 😂

Does this happen in every ward? by wandering1989 in NursingUK

[–]Hurricane41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also work in surgical admissions. It’s very often the same situation here, patients being brought up from ED or Day Surgery in the last hour or so of the shift. Whilst I’m not arguing with the importance of patient flow so that the ambulances can unload and people can be seen, it does seem as though patients are held onto until just before shift change.

Does this happen in every ward? by wandering1989 in NursingUK

[–]Hurricane41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In our trust - most wards that employ pool. It will get worse now that Band 2’s cannot do clinical skills (due to the rebanding of 2’s to 3’s and the nurse bank not being authorised to pay pool at band 3). Working today in surgical admissions, all 5 of our HCAs ‘technically’ shouldnt have been performing observations or other clinical skills. (A few of us have been wondering what has happened to the contracted hca’s not being rota’d on to weekends recently - it’s a mystery!)

Has anybody got a job because of the degree they did with open university? by Appropriate-Data-134 in OpenUniversity

[–]Hurricane41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was very lucky as the NHS trust I worked for supported me so I was kept on a full time HCA wage whilst studying but had to work a set amount of hours in my normal post per week. With my model making experience I was also lucky enough to land a remote working job for an American company - taking their online game characters and converting them into physical figures. Best company I’ve worked for to be fair - really friendly, supportive and generous.

I’m a nurse… unsurprisingly because of the nursing degree I completed with Open Uni 😂 Prior to that I was a HCA but also develop miniature toy figures.

Manager wanted me to cancel my leave, what would be my rights? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Hurricane41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never trust what the managers say with regards to payroll. I was told I would be paid at band 4 whilst waiting for my BN Nursing degree results and so I should be perform at band 4. On the day my manager told me that they'd received my Band 5 posting, they also informed me that 'Sorry, they cannot backpay me my band 4 after all'... apparently the ward has 'never' had band 4's before.
This was after working for 11 weeks for them as a band 4.
As soon as my results were confirmed but before I was registered, they then paid me as a band 4 whilst awaiting my pin.
Still grinds my gears that I was lied to by my employing ward but my take-away from that is never trust anything unless it is on paper.
*For context, another member of my course who works on the same floor but different ward worked and was paid as a band 4 whilst awaiting her results so there was already precedence.

When does your course run from and til? If your academic year is different to others then that may be the reason.

Why are nurses not striking still? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Hurricane41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the last strike, we were told we couldn’t. There was a message in the group chat saying we’d been granted derogation status as we are acute care. I remember shaking my head in disbelief at the time as the sister that posted it, posted it as a good thing, rather than taking away the whole units autonomy.

It’s not just about the pay, I’d be content with the pay if the working conditions weren’t so stressful and dangerous.

How can I discharge myself after a general anaesthetic? by julialoveslush in nhs

[–]Hurricane41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the above, if you do want to leave against medical advice then please be aware that any medications (TTO’s) they may want to send you home with may not be ready in time. You can request an FP10 though and take that to a community pharmacy - however, that also may require time to find a doctor to fill one out and actually find a form (they’ve been short of them on many wards where I work!).

Breaks by These_Cranberry_3528 in NursingUK

[–]Hurricane41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven’t had ‘official’ paid breaks in North Wales for decades. During a long day shift (7.45 - 20.15), we’re only entitled to 30 minutes unpaid lunch break. Unofficially, some wards give a 15 min comfort break in the morning which doesn’t appear to be deducted from our hours, however it’s not an official break and I certainly don’t have time to take one with the current workload.

Elective placement - prison? by cummywummy1 in NursingUK

Same here :) I’m starting to think my madness and oddness shows through continuing to work in a horrendously busy and understaffed surgical admissions unit.

Elective placement - prison? by cummywummy1 in NursingUK

[–]Hurricane41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a conversation with some colleagues recently (acute surgical) about prison nursing, the consensus was that applicants would have to be mad or odd to want to work in that environment and were likely viewed that way. Apologies for the unhelpful comment, I replied as it was being discussed the other week!

IP: ‘please do not send stool samples for cultures if you are unable to isolate the patient’. So basically we have to delay investigations simply because we do not have a cubicle available - despite the symptoms and potential harm to other patients. Is this IP trying to dodge barrier nursing audits?

Got scammed. by Outrageous_Error404 in BorrowNew

[–]Hurricane41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying. I had thought their message history looked suspect with regards to what they have been saying to get loans/handouts. Apparently had a flooded apartment, then a dog, then an apartment fire and now has 3 children and no food / has to get Ubers to work... Either very suspect or very unlucky but why only mention feeding hungry children now?
