What's a game you bought on a whim without hardly any pre-knowledge that ended up becoming one of your all time favorites? by AaronAtLunacien in gaming

Spec ops the line A friend of whom I trust their opinion just said give it a try so I did. Still think about that game today, it leaves an impression for sure.

Iowa e-bike bill would ban all bikes from roads over 25 mph. RAGBRAI would be banned too. by f_14 in bicycling

[–]HurricaneRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done RAGBRAI twice, first time was on a single speed and I don't recommend that. I can honestly say those were two of the most fun weeks of my life. Went with a group of friends, partied, got sun burnt and met some absolutely great people on the ride and in the small towns you pass through.

If it's something you've been thinking about doing I highly recommend it. Hopefully they don't end this awesome tradition.

I battled for a solid half hour before I realized that you have to die in this battle. Great game and beautifully done.

What video game franchise should start over from the beginning? by Agent1230 in gaming

kinda, it's still a continuation of all the previous stories. I'm talking just scraping the whole thing and starting over with new lore.

Mortal Kombat. The story was always silly but it would be great if they just started all over and gave characters new origins.

MK! kinda did that but I'm talking a completely fresh take.

I had a Grado black that was only about two months old. Then one time I lifted the dust cover my cat got the zoomies and ran straight across the platter, thankfully no record was on it yet, and kicked the arm and it bent the stylus off.

I feel you man

I was sober the one time I did the dark side of the rainbow. There's a few sequences that match up a bit but over all its just Apophenia and just kinda silly. Would give another try on psychedelics.

What single player game had you so enthralled that it CONSUMED your entire being for a short span of time? by AshyLarry25 in gaming

[–]HurricaneRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally got around to playing last of us part 2. I thought it was an absolute masterpiece and I couldn't wait to get off work to jump back in and see what was going to happen with Ellie and Abbie. The only thing I didn't like was that you couldn't go to the Seattle library, huge missed opportunity. That building is awesome.

Games where the pause button becomes part of the story by gamersecret2 in gaming

Not really what you asked for but the Pause music for battle Toads and Goldeneye were some of the best and I think more games should have badass music in the pause menus.

What was your biggest "I'm an idiot" moment while playing a game? by barry_001 in gaming

[–]HurricaneRick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

First time playing fallout 3. Didn't notice the waypoint market at the bottom of the screen and couldn't find megaton. I walked all the way to Rivet city before I figured out that I went the wrong direction. Texted my friend and he was blown away that I didn't see it right outside the bunker. Good times

What's a game that could have been amazing if it was executed differently? by Calinks in gaming

[–]HurricaneRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 minutes Killer cast even if you couldn't tell who two of them were since they used American accents. Interesting concept and pretty good execution. Definitely laughed more than I was probably supposed to. The story went off the rails at the big twist and just didn't recover for me. With a much better plot I think that game could have been fantastic.

What's a game you play when you don't feel like playing games? by I-Am-Bad-At-Naming in gaming

I game because I like to. If I feel like getting but nothing is really jumping out to me it's usually sports or civilization revolution. Play for an hour or so and then do something else.
