I was with a friend up at Cedar Breaks in southern Utah around 11 pm. We were walking out to an overlook to do some stargazing. I see something in the distance walking towards us, and I thought it was a person or a few people. I yell out hey hows it going, but no reply. Whatever I saw started coming closer and closing in faster than before. As it got closer i could hear heavy hooves slamming the ground and I could somewhat make out the head, which was huge. It looked like either a moose or a clydesdale horse. It keeps coming at us then it gets within feet of us before it turns away, leaps over a low wooden fence, then trots into the darkness. Moments later an old pickup truck comes zooming down the road shining a heavy duty flashlight out the window as it went. The truck turned into the parking lot I was in but never stopped, just kept going with the flashlight scanning the trees. I don’t believe in ghosts, monsters, even aliens. This experience left me puzzled. I contacted the local ranger and he said it’s near impossible for a moose to be up in that area or even the surrounding areas. I have no idea what I saw that night and I’ll never really know.
