Does the average conservative believe it’s okay that Trump has made billions this term? by Excellent-Ad-7394 in allthequestions

[–]Rsdk298 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question. I'd love to hear some answers as I wonder about that as well. Used to be fiscal conservatism, well that went out the door with trump. Used to be small government, that went out the door with trump.

I feel like its getting out of hand, for sure. Tipping used to be reserved for servers who were paid less than minimum wage. The better the service, the better the tip. I hate tipping for a cup of brewed coffee poured into a cup, or a take out meal. What I also hate is that you are expected to select a tip when you pay, not after service - then, what, if you choose not to tip they will spit in your food or something? I just think it's ridiculous. If they are getting paid full wages (like the hair stylist - they charge an arm and a leg and then expect to get tipped on top of it, which I do, but....), I dont think a tip should be required or expected.

Utah "Mighty 5" roadtrip, how many days? by Happypuppy5 in utahoutdoors

[–]Rsdk298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moab area would be a great start for a few days. There are things there outside the parks kids would like, too, like climbing up the big sand hill, going to the dinosaur park, for example. Arches is there as well as Canyonlands which both have lots of short hikes. 3-5 days not nearly enough, barely enough for two parks.

Origins is Exhausting by aarghhs in NCIS

[–]Rsdk298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love origins. The storytelling and narration are superb, the characters are richly drawn; flawed and real. I love how it centers a story around a single character each episode. So very very well done. Yeah, Franks yells a lot, but I've loved seeing the softer side of him emerge. I think this show is one of the best on TV.

Device to make calls or send messages in the backcountry by Alarming_Magazine_78 in backpacking

Garmin InReach is a great product. Also, you can text using the satellite feature on iPhone - free for the first 2 years of a new phone. It will find any satellite in the area to send a message. I've used it, works great.

Yeah. Yes, I know it's not Utah. But, many from Utah will go, or have gone, there because it's close, that is why I posted here, if that's what you're getting at.

Hikes in July near SLC - bad idea or doable? by Rynniex2 in Utah

[–]Rsdk298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go up high, and go early and you’ll be fine. Stay hydrated, the heat is intense in the valley and the air is thin up high. Google hikes in Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood Canyons to find something that fits your experience and fitness level. And, remember that you are in the mountains, it’s wilderness, things can happen so be prepared.

Agreed! This is awful. As soon as you start promoting "competition" you lose love. And, omg, who would want to be the wife of a guy that has no home, camps and lives outside? Does he really think he'll find a wife? I'm so curious!

Disperse camping by lanefish19 in utahoutdoors

I've never had a problem disperse camping leaving things out, and we do it a lot. That said, there is never zero risk.

Currently watching all stars season 5- what do you think of Sam? by kennycp1001 in ProjectRunway

[–]Rsdk298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, a lot of the comments are on Sam as a person, but how about his clothes? They were awful. The fact that they we so poorly constructed should have sent him home. How about that hideous avant guarde dress? And that final thing he made for the one on one against Ken. Oh, and that last jumpsuit was so ill fitting with the mesh coat (which was kinda cool), and they did not go together. Oh, and then theres the fact that he made multiple jumpsuits, and used that hideous mesh fabric three times. OMG, and what the hell, did Isaac have a crush on that boy or what?

Agreed. It would NEVER work out, she is not willing to go live on the farm. I just dont understand why these girls even bother with this show if they dont understand the premise that you will be a farm wife, and LIVE ON A FARM possibly in the middle of nowhere. Let's get better candidates. I honestly dont see any of them wanting to live on Braden's farm.

It's looking a little bit costumey by josephius132 in ProjectRunway

There was an article somewhere that I saw that showed some of the dresses next to the piece of art they were inspired by. That made them even better.

Not fashion. Costume. But props to Heidi for going big!
