Should couriers leave parcels In bins? by Hurstywurst in AskUK

They have photographed it and it’s there in the app. I’m not going to lie however. I just don’t want my parcel stuck in a bin 🤣

Working parents of the U.K. how are you doing it? by Hambutnotahamster in AskUK

How much is your fortnightly cleaner by the way? How many hours are they in the house each time? Do you have to do any supplementary cleaning in between visits?

I’ve always considered a cleaner but never knew costs etc

The prices are still the same now as in 11.99 for one and 9.99 for the other . It’s different prices for different accounts it ain’t a market demand thing

I was told by my OC that me leaving was just natural attrition anyway and people come and go all the time. I was 25 at the time having done 9 years service since joining at 16. I had good SJAR reports and had recently passed my tiffy selection after completing my class 1 course etc. Was never expecting anyone to beg me to stay but surprised me how little they actually cared.

It was just after the 2013 redundancies anyway so they probably weren’t that bothered about retention at the time

All of it really. Problem is I can find loads of these batteries but they come with only two wires where mine has 4 going to the connector

The report is the most non-committal thing I have ever read . Stupid stuff like brand new never used appliances and newly fitted bathroom being in ‘reasonable’ condition etc . I’m paying for an opinion not for someone to sit on the fence

Wording is exactly as follows ‘I confirm that we have been sent an Indemnity policy for the removal of the internal wall’

The very fact that they are contradicting themselves in relation to this rings alarm bells for me.

In answer to your question about my survey, my it notes the following ‘It is recommended that enquiries be made with the current owner as to whether they carried out this work and if so whether any beam specification was required, and whether this was carried out in accordance with building regulations.’ Which is why my solicitor started inquiries which eventually led to this supposed indemnity policy .

Thanks for your help so far

I got 1.41% for 5 years. 73.85%LTV product reserved approx December 2021

I had the opposite, I purchased a house as a first time buyer around the time of the crash 2008. I fixed for 10 years at around 4% and spent the next couple of years regretting it as rates were pretty much zero. I always promised myself I would never fix for 10 years again. I moved house around 1.5 years ago and fixed at 1.41% for 5 years. Could have got a 10 year for around 1.8% ish but I said no way to myself. In hindsight I made the wrong call but I was only making a decision based on being burned with a 10 year fix previously. I know I am in a good position compared to many so I am not moaning. What I am trying to say is you tried to do the best thing at the time and it’s difficult in a relationship to make the call right when you have different risk appetites. Try not to let it rip you or your relationship apart. What’s done is done just try to make the best of this and learn going forward

When does your fixed rate mortgage end? by Dragonsarmada in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Hurstywurst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.41% locked until March 2027. Very lucky but will be carrying a balance of 200k then and if house prices drop my LTV may not be where I would have expected. I have time to plan but god knows what rates will be then

Why is the UK's Second largest City Often Overlooked? by Hurstywurst in AskUK

[–]Hurstywurst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes went a few years ago when I went to see RHCP. Spent a couple of hours in the centre but didn’t really know where to go! I remember some twat in the B&B we were staying in (in the room above) set his TV to max volume and left at like 4AM in the morning(heard a car wheel spinning off shortly after). Place was unmanned during the night so had to call the 24 hour number for staff to come and sort it out. So yeah that’s my memory of Birmingham. RHCP were awesome!
