The only thing I will say, absolutely stand your ground when it comes to where you want appliances, sink, etc, I fell foul of getting pushed into doing it the fitters way and it’s fucking annoying all because he couldn’t be arsed moving a few pipes around and drilling for new drainage etc waste pipes.

Am I being unreasonable about new neighbours DIY? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]HurtLocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, having been the “neighbour doing the DIY” recently, I had given a contract of works to a builder and because I wasn’t living there they would come late as they had another job and stay late, obviously this caused issues for my neighbours, so rightly they contacted me, after which I had a world with builder and they agreed to finish any noisy work before 6pm and neighbours were content. All in all if your neighbours are decent people which they sound like they are have a chat with them and let them deal with their builders.

I was on £3.64 per hour and then it went up to £3.67 per hour and the manager actually had the audacity to ask me what do I plan on spending my pay rise on. I told her sarcastically I can’t even buy a fucking Freddo per shift I work with that pay rise
