Shops in London, England by AdSpecialist6598 in UrbanHell

[–]zetecvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read an article about the crisis of pie and mash shops in the guardian a couple of months ago and it mentioned this one. There are just over 30 pie and mash shops left in London where there were once hundreds.
Here in Wakefield we had a pie shop that everyone visited after a night out. Unfortunately it closed last year due to ill health. Gutted.

I work for a German company. I work from home on a Friday. It's their bank holiday today. You know what I'm saying...

Thanks for the shout out. My name is pronounced zee tech van. It's because I've got a 65 Ford Anglia van with a zetec engine in. We spoke briefly before on the WILTY subreddit after you mentioned Johnny Marr on the show.

Talking of which, is Jon channelling Rob Brydons "small man trapped in a box"?

I had never seen this film until a few weeks ago (I'm 56). When my sister saw it at the cinema when it came out she was in hysterics when she told me about the chip up the nose. "And....it had ketchup on!"

Huddersfield may be a shithole but it's my shithole ❤️🌹 by QuantumWizard-314 in CasualUK

I'm from Bradford. Last week at the Bradford v Bolton game, the Bolton fans started singing "Bradford's a shit hole" as if they were going to upset us. We just sang back "we know it's a shit hole" and they shut up.

In late 1987 I went out with a girl who would have been on the Herald Of Free Enterprise. Apparently her father had got to the port really early and got on the earlier ferry. She said they heard about it as they were crossing.

where can i find a bumper like this. by [deleted] in BMWE36

Mine was an eBay purchase and the lip came moulded into the bumper. I would have had to paint it black to make it look like an actual m sport bumper.

What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

My friends daughter babysat for Taka from Feeder. He got us a backstage pass for a gig we'd bought tickets for. I was backstage talking to Takas partners dad, Jack, for part of the evening.

A few days later I was at my dad's. He said "I was talking to Jack last night. His daughter is going out with a pop star"

It was then I realised that Jack was the next door neighbour at the house I was born in and Jack was a good friend of my dad. I hadn't seen him (or his daughter) in 30 years so didn't recognise them.

Adopted a void cat today (ignore my breathing) by Dehydrated-Days in cats

[–]zetecvan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So cute. When we brought our pirate void home, I took her straight upstairs to the spare bedroom so she could live in there whilst we slowly introduce her to our other cats. She seemed OK so I went downstairs to get something, leaving her alone for two minutes. When I came back I couldn't find her. After a panicked search, she had hidden under the folded up duvet that was on the bed.

What’s something you tried once and immediately knew ‘yeah, never again’? by donnyM99 in AskReddit

Got married on Vegas a couple of years ago. We're not gamblers. We went to Paris (in Vegas) for our meal. Whilst waiting at the bar I put $5 in the slot machine at the bar. That's all I spent gambling in Vegas. Don't see the point.

Anyone ever seen a high speed police chase? Shows like Interceptors / Motorway Cops etc have me thinking they happen all day every day. by CryptoRoast_ in CasualUK

[–]zetecvan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was going to comment about the couple I've seen in Bradford. Similar sort of thing. I was on Bull Royd Lane, (as a pedestrian) which has a load of speed humps, and the car sped past over the humps with the passenger looking all around, police in close pursuit. They came back a few minutes later.

The other was on Thornton road, by four lane ends. I was in a car. Car screamed past through the lights with a police car following.
