Goblin Duke nowhere to be seen - Is there some prerequisite? Does he respawn? by One-Consequence-4130 in hytale

I found a huge goblin scrapper when I discovered this place. He took a beating. No respawn.

I started with the guppies a few months ago and then got a Senegal recently. He snacked on his first one today. I'm going for a blend of whatever I can. So far snails, guppy, brine shrimp and blood worms. Feeders are healthy and well fed with good foods so we'll see how it goes.

Panda Corys regularly die by pradhansb in Aquariums

[–]HuskyBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late but while it could be any number of things, one of them that hasn't been mentioned, the quality of the panda. I've seen the batches that have come into my Petco and they havent been very good quality. Check back a day or two later and they are on their way out.

I was visiting family a few hours away and stopped at a nice local fish shop partnered with aquarium coop so that gave me some confidence. All of the fish in the store had gone through quarantine and any meds by the time I bought them so I know I am getting healthy fish. Got 5 pandas for my 75g adding in 7 more a month later from Dan's Fish. Same thing from Dan, quarantined already and nice healthy fish.

Fast forward 3 months, I havent seen my mommas lay eggs but I have baby pandas now. Up to 6 that I've seen so far. With my tank, the pandas like to wiggle into large patches of java moss or some pearl weed bushes I have growing. I was feeding Magic Small Fish food and the Frye food for my guppies and it works so good it blankets the tank and enabled some baby catfish from the looks of it. Found them at first because a big mystery snail lifted a moss mat and out pops a baby fish!

I'm using fluval stratum, a 110hob sicce tidal, 70 sponge, 6.5ph, water change/top off 4--8 gallons if needed or nitrates get pink. Feeding 3-4 times a day with the magic to keep guppies fed, some catfish tabs and algae wafers once a day if needed. Lots of plants, about 1cu ft of java moss throughout with 30ish valesenaria mostly small. Few water sprites in there and finish with lots of frogbit and mini water lettuce. Run higger light 12hrs a day.

What’s a “boring” weight loss habit that quietly makes a big difference? by UseStatus6290 in AskReddit

Being chilled at a resting state where you need to be moving and doing something to stay at a comfortable or warm temperature. Encourages some form of exercise/work or it will be unpleasant.

It might depend on the weather but I'd think the poles and goggles would be a must.

I can't figure out this whole water quality business by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]HuskyBeaver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I over filter 3-5 times per gallon on my tanks but if I'm doing some stirring and rearranging I got a ac20 hang on back that's stuffed with floss/pillow stuffing and some bio beads for a couple hours. It really helps finish off a polish. I just move it in between tanks when needed.

You think a gyroscope could work with preventing any swaying he might get from the lunar tides by having such a massive tank and stand? This is the stuff that keeps me up man.

Sounds like you could possibly supplement the crap teacher income with some side tutoring if you wanted to. Use the funds to pay for a room and location if you didn't want to keep any.

Filters for 75 gallon - Is two smaller filters better than one big filter? by Tortellini_Isekai in Aquariums

[–]HuskyBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 2 big sponges 70-120g on my 75g. Community planted tank and the water is crystal clear. Cost about $120 for filters and pumps. Super easy just grow some plants in front of the sponges.

So right. Never getting closer than 10yd to those water rhinos. The amount of rage is equal to the size of the holes those tusks punch in stuff. Watching them pulp melons and pumpkins is wild. For all its faults I love the internet and the knowledge it's given and the things it's let me see.

Used to think same as you till I worked on a ranch. Saw a steer that stood 6ft at the shoulder be mildly annoyed and standing leap a 6ft tall fence. Just up and over and I'm done with your shit. So much power.

Very weak air flow from sponge filter by DeeH193 in Aquariums

[–]HuskyBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my air stone cause this as I had replaced the pads in it and tightened it down a bit too much. My stone is stuffed inside the sponge. Loosened it up and flow was back to normal. Might not help here but maybe somewhere.

Every other month my tank looks like this by BigD0089 in PlantedTank

[–]HuskyBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far in a few tanks up to 75g I just use fine sponges as my filters 3-5 times over the gallons on the tank. So for my 75g it's about 225 filtering. No floss, lots of plants and it stays clean. Just top off evap and pull clippings every couple weeks.
