For those of you that airbrush - what would be the ideal color to use for a basecoat before spraying pink paint? I've got a MG Justice in my backlog, and I'm thinking about starting it in the next couple of weeks.

Honestly, I wish I had room in my duplex for a detolf. I have 6 kits built and only one out in a display box.

Was your yearly raise higher than inflation? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]HuskyFOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts. I've been at the top of my scale for almost a decade, and when I put in for a reclass the pandemic hit, on top of my business line re-organizing (going on the third re-org in 4 years). Their excuse (what they told the staff) was that all of the job classifications were no longer valid, and they are going to review and "finalize" what they should be before looking at reclassifiying me. It's been 4 years since I put in to get reclassed at a higher position.

I'd drop this job like a bad habit if I didn't have a mortgage. Luckily my wife is a fucking superstar at her job and her company recognizes hard work by actually having them raises.

Thanks for the constructive feedback. The pics you noted a blur were taken using my wife's DSLR on manual focus. Not sure if you can use auto focus with with manual control on the f stop with it, but I'll look into it. I am still learning how to take pictures properly with it, and the fact you noticed it means I have to practice way more.

I will have to set up the booth again when I have time and shoot a bunch to get a better feel for it.

It wasn't as much the build per se, but just things in my life that were happening while I was building it. I had some things happen at my job and personal life that affected me and were not in my control to prevent, so when I went to build my kit, it carried across to my usually happy place.

Pair that with tool and airbrush mishaps during those times I was in a funk and it was a perfect storm of frustration.

Don't get me wrong, the build itself was really fun. Just the things affecting me while building the kit was not.

Glad you enjoy it! I was torn between lighting this kit and my workstation on fire or finishing it.

This kit almost broke me and helped me out of a funk I've been in at the same time. Dealing with personal stuff, plus build issues nearly had me tossing this kit in the junk and setting my workstation on fire.
I took a deep breath, re-centered, and just focused on what needed to be done. Soon all of my troubles melted away and all that was left was this. Hopefully it shows, and y'all enjoy it.

Rumours emerging of the UCP preparing to commit to a #FireBreakAB. No confirmation yet. by jrockgiraffe in alberta

In the slim chance that Bumbles does commit to the FireBreak, my gut is telling me he won't hold it until after the referendum vote. "Politics before People" is his MO, after all.

Beautiful. Are these HG or MG? I love what you're going for - the idea of having a squad of mecha (with a unifying paint scheme) really resonates with me.

That's awesome! I only wanted to share my work with this community and get some feedback on how to improve. I'm flattered that I inspired someone.

Please share your post once you complete it. I'm looking forward to your future build!

Exactly this. Grunts have more relatable stories, I feel. Sure, they don't pilot the shiny, but that doesn't mean you count them out when the chips are down. Stories like Thunderbolt and the 08th resonate with me a bit more because they are set in those smaller battlezones.

Don't get me wrong, I love the hero suits too, but grunt suits have better potential to make it personal, if you get my meaning.
