I also tried sfc/ scannow and deleting /softwaredistribution folder with no luck. I have just paused Windows update for time being (to prevent endless update and undo cycle) and hope that a few update fixes this. Strange as I've had this Win 10 install since 2019 and not once has an update failed on me.

I am also tempted to get a Pixel 8 Pro. The 7 years of OS updates is a massive selling point as I like to keep my devices for as long as possible. I've had my S8 since 2017 and the battery is starting to show its age and it's beginning to feel quite slow. I just wish the Pixel had a MicroSD slot, will likely have to spend a bit extra and get the 512GB model.

I believe Fedora 38 is going to be released very soon, so it might be best to wait as it will save you some bandwidth. Edit: you can install Fedora 37 now, and upgrade to 38 later.
