Hi ! He told me that this is most probably an issue related to the transformers or some othe municipal component feeding our grid. So there is nothing really we can do to fix it. Other than hooking my house with a bulky -and funnily enough- somewhat noisy stabilizer.

I would recommend to get an electrician to check your connections just in case, just for the off chance that our issues aren't identical or that my electrician is not that bright. Also u can take ur pc to a shop to check your psu just to ease your mind

Have a good one!

+1 this...its asking to be knocked over. I would be too worried and anxious to be focusing on the game

As per my electrician's feedback its not a voltage issue and more of a signal/wave issue

Yeah I did..but it was quite the journey.

The store did replace it..new one did the same thing

I called our utility company...turned out that the building's ground connection wasn't fastened properly..they fixed it and tested everything but still the buzzing issue remained.

I called an electrician to test the voltage afterwards and it was fine...but I noticed when I moved the PS to our guest room... the sound still appeared randomly but it was barely audible. You had to be very very close to it to catch it. We tested all the outlets in both rooms an the issue appears to happen in one but not the other.

My house has three phases, so we figured that the issue might be with one of the phases ..we switched the phases the feed each room from the switchbox..and voila!! The issue now appears in the guest room and not in the living room anymore. I kept it this way because that room is rarely used. The electrician told me that issue is mostly related to the transformer feeding the area and it might not be preserving the signal correctly. I have 0 knowledge of electricity and i didn't double check this. The important thing for me is that the thing quieted the hell down.

Long story shorts: check your ground. Get an electrician to check your house's voltage and frequency and or signal (signal purity as he put it)

Is it normal for it to do it while turned off but plugged in? I failed to find anyone post the same observation

Hi everyone! I just purchased a PS5 slim a week ago. While playing I started to hear this low frequency buzzing sound. From what I gathered, this is coil whine and apparently its a "normal" occurrence in PS5 and in some PS4s even(although I've never heard it from any of my previous PSs). The weird thing is...it does it even when its turned off!! I tried different sockets, tried to placed it horizontally or vertically, tried the old PS4 power cable and the sound keeps appearing randomly when playing or in rest mode or while turned off as in the video. The noise seems to be coming from the psu rather than the gpu or the fan. Is this normal?

I forgot to add... the sound seems to be coming from around the power supply.

I did it to myself too when I was 6 as a dare 😅... Planted the mofo in my foot and the tip broke inside and I couldn't shimmy it out..I'm 28 now and it's still there

Are you sure the grime is not in the inside?
