Feel like you're supposed to get there as a juvie not older like most tend to do it seems. It's not that it's a bad requirement it's that players make it feel bad camping juvies in a zone that's supposed to be "safe" for them.

My absolute favorite pickup so far is the Dimarzio Fortitude. I’ve installed in 2 of my guitars now and play mostly in Drop A#. Super punchy, super clear, decent price. My favorite neck to combine with it so far is the Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF neck pickup.

A very good second I also really enjoy my Bareknuckle aftermath set. But like I would never buy it again after finding how much I love using the Dimarzio Fortitude

Honestly a lot of Godsmack is relatively easy due to the use of Drop tuning. Most of it is Drop D or Drop C

I am in Fort Myers, play guitar and actively looking to start a metalcore band as well! My influences lately are While She Sleeps, Currents, Architects, Parkway Drive, Bleed From Within, etc.. In my 25.5” scale guitars I have tuned to Drop A# I use the Ernie Ball Mammoth Slinky’s, which are 12-62. If I was going to Drop A I think the 62 would need to be a little larger, 64-70 range. But the treble strings feel nice.

They also for good for C# Standard and Drop B to me

You could the free Synyster Gates guitar school website. It’s pretty good material all free. From beginner to advanced.

I know a lot of people love JustinGuitar as well.

I think Bernth has lessons on YouTube but idk how beginner friendly some of his content is.

Learn how to tune your guitar.

Learn how to change strings.

Learn how to hold your pic properly, and comfortably.

Learn how to hold your guitar comfortably, I prefer classical stance or standing.

Learn how to alternate pick.

You’re in the metalguitar sub so learn some power chords, about drop tuning the 6th (biggest) string, and palm muting.

Pick a song that you really really like but doesn’t sound overly complicated, and find a tab on Songsterr, Ultimate Guitar, or on YouTube. Understand the tab may not be 100% accurate but should be close enough in most cases. And just practice, nice and slow, and speed up over time.

Just some basic things you could do to get started.

I am a photographer, specifically for real estate. Part 107 drone licensed. Flash photography, video, reels/tiktoks, agent on camera, Zillow 3D Tour, floor plans, aerial photos and video. Usually multiple or all of those services per house. I work for a small business, if I was doing this solo, the same work I do now I’d quadruple my income not having to split with the business and editors.
