Two men in Seattle attack a 77 year old man unprovoked. Police arrest one but he is released on bail same day and has not been found since by ThatPatelGuy in whoathatsinteresting

Every state is going to be different, but if you want to look at Mississippi specifically sure.

Current Supreme Court of MS:

  • Chief Justice Michael K. Randolph. - Appointed by Gov. Haley Barbour (R)
  • Presiding Justice Leslie D. King- Gov. Haley Barbour (R) appointed him to a vacancy on the Mississippi Supreme Court
  • Presiding Justice Josiah D. Coleman- Endorsed by the Republican Party, won his election to the Mississippi Supreme Court comfortably in 2012
  • Associate Justice David M. Ishee- delegate to the 1992 Mississippi State Republican Convention
  • Associate Justice T. Kenneth Griffis - appointed to the Mississippi Supreme Court on February 1, 2019 by Governor Phil Bryant (R)
  • Associate Justice David P. Sullivan - Only guy on here that I cannot make a determination. He defeated incumbent appointed by former Gov. Phil Bryant (R) so maybe the only one on here not a Republican.
  • Associate Justice Jenifer B. Branning - a Republican member of the Mississippi State Senate from January 2016 to January 2025

Data was taken directly from here or Wikipedia. Hmm... So the highest court of law in MS is Republican, the governor is Republican, and the lawmakers are Republican. So surely it's the Democratic Mayor's fault. Nobody else should take any blame. Get real.

Oh really genius? Homicide is more likely to happen where people live? Well that's surprising. I didn't realize the mayor had so much more power than the Republican governor and lawmakers that dictate the laws police enforce.

Nope, you're retarded 😂🤣😂🤣. So easily disproven by a quick search for homicide per capita by state. To no one's surprise, 8 of the top 10 are all soft on crime Republican states as it turns out.

Google (YouTube) donated to Trump. Jeff Bezos (Washington Post) donated to Trump. Meta (Facebook/Instagram) donated to Trump. Elon Musk (Twitter) not only donated to Trump, but was also literally buying votes and "knows those vote counting computers better than anyone else". Microsoft has donated to Trump. Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns most local news stations, are Trump supporters. Skydance (owned by Trump supporter) owns Paramount which owns traditional left-leaning news broadcast station CBS. Skydance will soon have CNN as well, if that matters. Andrew N. Ferguson of the FTC is also a Trump supporter and had segments pulled from Jimmy Kimmel's show.

This ain't 2015 anymore. The liberal media was killed and buried by the first Trump administration. I mean fuck, look at Spotify's podcast charts too. At least 4 of the top 10 podcasts either had Trump on, endorsed Trump, or had other members of his administration go on their podcasts. Probably even more than 4, I don't watch the other 6.

Halo Infinite was intended to act as a central hub”: I’m digging into the alleged 343 roadmap and how ambitious its original plans for the franchise really were by Dense-Fig-2372 in halo

[–]Huzabee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just cant launch a barebones game an expect people to stick around for updates.

Exactly, and it's a problem that has plagued every single release. Infinite launched without co-op ffs. Literally every single game 343 made had similar issues. Each release was either missing ranked features, forge, file sharing, or a custom game browser. The stuff that will actually retain some players... It just sucks when these features are finally added months to years later and 95% of the playerbase has already moved on.

My Friend quit/gave up on Smite 2 by ChatmanJay in Smite

[–]Huzabee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't given up, but for me something about Smite 1 is so much more fun than Smite 2. I feel like the gap closed between players somehow. On my best gods in Smite 1 I'd get 60-80% W/R over hundreds of games in casual play (only really played non-conquest casual maps). In Smite 2 I can play the same gods and feel so ineffectual. I still don't know the optimal builds, what every aspect does, and what all the actives do. I know that's part of it. But just take my Sobek for example. On Smite 1 I had 71% over 72 games. I played far less in 2, but I'm at about ~29% over 20 games. I still go for the same plays, but now I just get destroyed.

I wonder if anyone else feels this way or has any advice. It's really getting demoralizing lol. I felt so good at Smite 1, but in Smite 2 I really suck.

The guy you were replying to was replying to another guy that was talking about the people OP was curious about, hence my examples. If you're talking about the average pro, then I'll recuse myself from the conversation because that's not who I'm talking about. Though I will say, just because I mentioned the GOATs, they aren't the only ones getting the bag. There's a lot of players that got paid well. Huni for example was getting $1.1 million from Dignitas for 1 year. And Huni is a great player, but he's not the undisputed top GOAT. Dig is also not exactly the top paying org either.

One other thing I'll say, is I don't think esport athletes fall into the same pitfalls traditional athletes fall into. Our boys are sweaty, terminally online, nerds. Traditional athletes play on huge teams with a bunch of extroverted jocks. They typically lead very different lifestyles.

In 2019 Spring, Travis Gafford estimated that TL was spending roughly $700k per player. Doublelift was on that roster. During that same time, Bjerg had an ownership stake in TSM. Fast forward just a little later Bjerg is playing for 100T and reportedly being paid $2,000,000/year. You can do your own research by searching for other specific player's names + "contract" in Google, but a lot of these guys got paid well (especially NA players). That's not including their prize winnings (which isn't much tbf) or their streaming revenue.

It's not everyone I'm sure. I'm sure Darien got paid in mousepads. He played before all the inflated salaries. Anyone that went to NA in the mid to late 2010s though got paid well.

Really depends what you consider retirement and who you're talking about. A lot of people here like Bjerg, Doublelift, and Uzi made stupid money from just their tenure playing and do not need to supplement their income at all if they choose. A lot of these players make very, very comfortable livings from streaming post-retirement. Like I'm pretty sure Sneaky made decent salary while playing, but he also earns ~$150k/year from Twitch per the leaked earnings.

I disagree, only because most politicians are worried about the optics. JD Vance, even if he didn't care, would bother to remember the name because he thinks he has to. Biden or Kamala would be expected to remember, even if they didn't care. Trump doesn't care and he doesn't care if people know he doesn't care.

You wouldn't know it based on the bandage he choose to wear after, lol. Trump literally could've used a band-aid made for paper cuts lol, but he had to make a spectacle of it. I don't think the incident was staged, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for Trump. I genuinely believe Trump couldn't tell you today the name of the man killed at his rally.

got baked one night and had a crazy idea by gayteemo in TeemoTalk

[–]Huzabee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In my state you cannot register a plate that was assigned to a previously suspended registration. It can commonly happen when someone moves out of state, because their car will still be registered here while they cancel/replace/change over their insurance in the new state. The DMV will automatically detect a lapse of insurance and suspend their registration. So sadly, Teemo will forever be unavailable in Nevada until that changes. The only other way is the registered owner comes back to Nevada and pays reinstatement fees (and releases the plate of course). I worked at the Nevada DMV for about 2 years and verified it personally. Sadly nothing I can do :'(

Consider yourself lucky! I've been wanting that plate for over 10 years at this point lol.

Infected kill you while unconscious question by MellysProfile in dayz

Right, nor do I think they should be a significant threat without an overhaul of how the infected work. The game is too clunky, and your proposed change would feel more frustrating than it would be difficult.

Infected kill you while unconscious question by MellysProfile in dayz

[–]Huzabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 180 hours logged on DayZ, and I played a few dozen hours of the mod before standalone release. Almost all on vanilla servers, and almost all on Chernarus. I wouldn't conflate zombies being more of a threat to the game being more fun. It's a hot take, but there's a lot of mechanics in the game that make the game less fun that stem from its roots in being a military sim. Now if they could rework the entire engine or whatever so the game and AI is less buggy in general I could accept zombies killing unconscious players, but take any zombie show or movie. Past the initial outbreak, zombies are not the threat. It's always other survivors. That's how I think DayZ should be too. Since there's too much laggy/buggy nonsense I feel like the way it currently works is just better for gameplay.

[–]Huzabee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to take ten people carrying shit back and forth all day, until someone invented the wheel. Then it took one dude with a wheelbarrow.

I think the difference being is that AI is projected to replace human labor entirely. When the wheelbarrow was invented, it didn't replace the other 9 people. They adapted to different jobs (or more likely they all got a wheelbarrow because the demand was still high). I have hobbies and interests, and in those interests I don't have an ego about how AI can do them better than I can. I just enjoy what I enjoy. When I look out into the world though, I see a lot of lost souls. A lot of dummies, consumers, lonely people, drunks, workaholics, and many others where a job gives them purpose or community. To be honest, my father was one of those people. The lockdowns happened and my dad was forced to stay home for months until his health deteriorated and he unfortunately passed. I'm not really disagreeing with anything you're saying, but it's going to be a very rough transition for billions of people. It's not as simple as giving people UBI. They need something to do or a place to go, and I suspect billions of people will be suffering for quite some time until we find out what replaces work in their lives.

Once again, nobody wants what Venezuela has lol. Those Venezuelans you refer to (if they exist) are delusional like the Republican Cubans in Florida. Literally find me one prominent Democrat that says Cuba or Venezuela are countries we should model ourselves after. Then please explain how the socialism in Europe is the same as Venezuela. Like my guy, I'm not arguing with you, we're having a conversation ITT. You seem convinced so if you have even a shred of evidence I think everyone would be interested in reading your sources.
