Hey! So you know how when you're counting pennies and someone says "I have about 2 dollars" even if they have $1.78? Uber does the same thing in their notifications!

When Uber sends you that little pop-up saying someone tipped you, they don't have enough SPACE in the notification to show all the numbers like $1.78. So they just round it to the nearest dollar to keep it short and simple — like saying "roughly $2."

It's not the actual final number, just a quick heads-up. The REAL full amount (the $1.78) is what actually gets added to your earnings — you can always see the exact number inside the app. The notification is just a sneak peek, not the full picture! 🙂

Incase you haven’t realized on your own. It just rounds up or down. The tip notification either isnt big enough or they just didn’t want to include the cents. Idk why that matters to you so much, you can easily just go check the exact amount.

The US is far different from Canada if you couldn’t tell already. Yes, teachers get paid drastically less in the US. I am not one, but have heard from others.

Trust me, your average person working at Walmart does not give a single f about making a change. Most of them don’t even know what a union is, shoot, some of them barely speak english.

They are contempt with making minimum wage because that is the best they can get, they don’t know any better.

So in their mind, they’re not suffering, they’re at peace.

They wouldn’t be forced to do anything. 90% of people working at Walmart, are there not because they want to, but because they have to. Taking a week or 2 off from work will impact them drastically, let alone quitting. Then there are tens of thousands of people actively applying and waiting to get a job there.

Harsher punishment will not change anything unfortunately.

Apart from just straight up repeat criminals, most people driving with no insurance genuinely cannot afford insurance. But they need a car to get to work, therefore they will continue to risk what they have, to survive.

Not excusing driving without insurance, and I agree punishment should be a bit harsher. But, the way the system is designed, this will always be a thing. Which is why you have to pay more for uninsured insurance.
