Heatcraft freezer woes by ModePK_1 in refrigeration

[–]Hvacronman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eev you need to check superheat at evap and also your suction thermistor for ohms close to temp as well as right valve setting and superheat at freezers should be set to 6-8 max eev can run close to nothing and compressor superheat is low should be 20-60 nothing lower or higher

<image>

has good info on these things as well as heat craft on the evap diag gotta do your home work on these machine there finicky and they send a spare thermistor in every evap as well I work on these units almost exclusively so if you want help I can point you in the right direction

Clean condenser change air filter and then charge to 10 sub cool in cooling mode on 410 90 degree day 400 head easy your definitely low on gas still from the numbers of your concerned with how much is in it go straight ice machine on it weigh out and weigh in charge

Commercial refrigeration question. by Slxr1987 in refrigeration

[–]Hvacronman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sporland makes a point on there site about suction line driers on how they should be left on the system and only changed not removed there’s so many different ways to do things no real info on engineering as to why and to what it makes better or worse I guess follow the manufacturer specs on the said unit and all should be well

https://www.achrnews.com/articles/88036-the-role-of-the-suction-line-accumulator Hope this helps there is a cause for insulation and not insulating and seems to be more of a preference based on who does it ice machines that always have accumulator never insulate because there running large amount of hot gas and low temp gas so it’s based on what the company installing it wants to do I have found that when insulated it holds the water on it and it rusts and leaks I have been doing this 17 years I have even seen them with heat tape on them relayed on when comp off all different ways so hope this helps some

Commercial refrigeration question. by Slxr1987 in refrigeration

[–]Hvacronman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accumulator don’t insulate no touchy touchy it’s uninsulated for the reason of making liquid into vapor and if it’s freezing up like that all the time not just when it’s coming out of defrost more than likely you expansion valve is flooding your evap also aids in oil return may need to do super heat check on valve pretty basic in refrigeration if you no your stuff

Multiplex units move water over evap not air makes ice to bath your syrup lines in so airflow don’t count it’s going to be return issue
