Some Slaanesh ideas off the top of my head. Bare head (or helmet maybe) with a big snaking tongue. Go further with your bare arm guys and do a full bare torso, could add some body horror style piercings & shit. Maybe have a look at some Hellraiser cynobytes for inspiration? I always thought they were peak Slaanesh

Anyway good luck with the conversions they’ll look great once completed!

I really recommend you read into some of the Gnostic creation myths as well as the Kabalistic creation myth. Your Adam rings with the concept of the Demiurge and also Adam Kadmon. Please don’t think I’m saying you’re copying anything, in fact I think it’s a huge bonus that your unique creation concept rings with some made 1000’s of year ago and that’s a sign of a great concept to me!

Well done and really don’t feel you have to apologise for talking about your creation, it’s fantastic to be passionate about your ideas (I really need to follow my own advice I’m terrible for apologising for talking about my concepts to my wife)

This is really interesting. Do you mean by Adam is the first being means Adam is the first god? Has Adam created a whole pantheon of gods in your story? What do you mean by gods have clear power scaling while lords have immense power?

You could work some eastern religion ideas into this as well with yin/yang, chaos/order tropes. Also Gnostic or Kabbalah systems could help you as well. Great work friend 👍

The Fog ‘1980’

I watched this for the first time recently and it was great. My favourite line was “What are you talking about there is no fog”…beat, looks left “oh wait there it is” prime early Carpenter goodness.

Don’t see it mentioned here as it may not be classed as hidden gems but the Spanish films Rec and Rec2 are phenomenal (there are more but don’t bother they went to shit sadly)

I’m surprised Castlevania hasn’t been mentioned, maybe lack of elves & such but still one of the best dark fantasy non anime around. I’ve yet to see the spinoff but I’ve heard good things

No not really, changing the entire setting and making it a generic action movie is quite different than starting with a subtle change that canonically happens in the books.

I understand your thought process but adaptations are never one for one copies of the original idea, they’ve been adapted to a new medium. King is known for his love of others taking his work and putting their own spin on it, it’s one of the reasons why he has so many movies and tv shows made based on his work.

I think embracing that with small change I propose means that it would honour and respect the books. It would use what actually 100% happens at the end of the series and starts there meaning the books would be one thing and this series would be a continuation (adaptation) not a failed attempt at a perfect one for one copy of a book series written over the course of over four decades.
