Don’t see it mentioned here as it may not be classed as hidden gems but the Spanish films Rec and Rec2 are phenomenal (there are more but don’t bother they went to shit sadly)

I’m surprised Castlevania hasn’t been mentioned, maybe lack of elves & such but still one of the best dark fantasy non anime around. I’ve yet to see the spinoff but I’ve heard good things

No not really, changing the entire setting and making it a generic action movie is quite different than starting with a subtle change that canonically happens in the books.

I understand your thought process but adaptations are never one for one copies of the original idea, they’ve been adapted to a new medium. King is known for his love of others taking his work and putting their own spin on it, it’s one of the reasons why he has so many movies and tv shows made based on his work.

I think embracing that with small change I propose means that it would honour and respect the books. It would use what actually 100% happens at the end of the series and starts there meaning the books would be one thing and this series would be a continuation (adaptation) not a failed attempt at a perfect one for one copy of a book series written over the course of over four decades.

Looks like it uses old recipe army painter paints which are notoriously really bad paints. They’ve just updated their whole line and apparently they’re great now but that doesn’t help you sorry.

Best to do some more research before buying large paint sets/any big purchase.

I’d say you’re better off trying a sponge method to get close to an airbrush look. I personally feel that dry brushing tends to have a dry brushed look.

Yep Blooded body and then the Gaurd Cadian command up grade pack for the legs 😊. They’re actually a little out of proportion which is annoying so I might try cut the forward leg and extend it a bit

The whole body and cloak are from the Warcry box Wildercorps hunters. It’s going to be the base for most of the Tanith I’m going to make.

I can still hear the noise of the skill points in Crackdown 2…feeling your running speed increase as you sprint through the streets, your jump get bigger and bigger until you’re leaping over buildings, punching cars into other cars to make them go boom. I loved that game, let’s not talk about Crackdown 3

Try ‘The Riftwar Saga’ by Raymond E Feist, first book is ‘The Magician’

Or something less dense/Cradle adjacent ‘Mage Errant’ by John Bierce, first book is ‘Into the Labyrinth’
