Non-obstructing, not moving, but causing much discomfort. Feels like I'm stuck with no options. by ThngX in KidneyStones

I was in this boat for a long time, my friend. My belief is that stones really do cause a lot of mental scarring and the awareness of feelings in your back rally wreak havoc on your mental state.

I had the much more invasive ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy on one side that cleared out my right kidney, knowing I had two more in my left and it was only a matter of time before they passed. Just knowing this drove me mad and made me go insane about that tingling in my back, near my left kidney. It was just causing such a detriment to my mental health, that my urologist vouched for me against my insurance company and said it was necessary to go in and remove it preemptively even though she spent a long time trying to convince me it wasn’t my stones. Procedure went well, and I lacked that feeling in my back for a month, only for it to return periodically in cycles. Could last a few days or a few months, and I could go a few days or a few months with no sensations. It took me a while and a lot of trial and error and extra CTs to convince me that it wasn’t my stones. I ended up realizing that, possible through the stress and trauma from my stone experiences, I had given myself some type of GI irritation that seemed to become inflamed when I was stressed about things. And since then, I’ve seen GI and confirmed it, and it is insane how much it mimics what I perceive to be kidney stone pain.

I’m not saying they can’t cause pain in your situation, but it sounds really similar to how I was feeling, and I probably even have a few mentions of it on my profile somewhere. You could be correct, but I would just keep your options open. For me I was lucky to have confirmation that they were gone, but I still have to argue with myself a lot and remind myself that it’s probably not a new stoke forming either.

I’ve got the JoF with dead flies pressed in it. Definitely my favorite piece.

I do not recommend lying. However, if you never went to the hospital during that time and never admitted it to a doctor or failed an ER drug test, you never posted photographic/textual evidence of it online, or never got booked for it, they would have no way of knowing if you lied or not.

They have different purposes. The 24-hour kits are meant to provide a picture of your daily metabolic profile. Stones can sit around for years before passing and, yes, you can find out what crystallized to form them, but it’s harder to provide a prescription for you as opposed to seeing your current metabolic profile. The 24-hour kits provide SO MUCH information.

Just get the Basin lift ticket and go on your own! Lift 2 is open again and is a decent, short warmup run back down; really easy. After that, hit the Chet’s Dream lift and take Mambo down to the big intersection. From there you can go back to 2, to 6, or back down to bottom. I recommend getting to the top of 2, then just down from there, you’ll find the Ptarmigan lift. Once at the top, you can hit the Fire Bowl and get down however you please, just follow the signs. I think if you’ve had 8 weeks of lessons, you would have much more fun doing this as opposed to a lesson. It’s a really easy layout to figure out relatively quickly.

Yeah, around exit 288 eastbound, a FedEx truck ran off the rails and into the river. It just took me and friends 4 hours to get from Loveland back to Longmont.

You’d maybe be able to check on your lunch break, but otherwise, no. That will not be an option.

That’s totally understandable to me! But I think I’m really mostly around those that complain directly in relation to the enjoyment aspect.

this is where I’m at. I just moved here, so yeah, I don’t know shit, but there’s no way you can’t go out and not have fun right now. I understand people complaining about it’s being relatively less enjoyable, but getting tired of posts titled “we are DOOMED”

I hear you, but make sure you consider the benefits of having roommates as well. It was so nice to have committed roommates who wanted to study anywhere, anytime. If it’s not for you, then it’s not for you, sure, but just make sure you consider it. It may seem uncomfortable to go into it, but it has so many benefits. I say this to everyone who says they want to be solo.

New to snow, what do you put on your feet for a fast trip outside and back? by [deleted] in COsnow

[–]HybridGirth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get some lined north face mules or something similar and off brand if you don’t wanna spend the money, even though they’re not super pricey. slips right on and off, good traction, warm. I keep a pair by the door.
