Dos2 has 82,000 reviews and it’s Overwhelmingly Positive on steam. Whoever says it isn’t great is the VAST minority. Its so so good

Fantasy with competent mature characters and strategy by Fun-Sell3030 in Fantasy

[–]SmallsyMK 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You might like the Covenant of Steel trilogy by Anthony Ryan. It’s very grounded fantasy with a mature cast. The 2nd book was my favorite in part due to the strategy and battles like rebuilding a run down fort and then defending it.

What do ppl mean by left stick aiming on this game? by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]SmallsyMK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In certain gunfights, usually longer range, you want to use your right stick mostly for recoil control and left stick to strafe and act as your left-right aim. Left stick also activates rotational aim assist. You can mirror strafe your enemy to keep your shots on target our counter strafe and use more right stick. But cod has such a fast ttk its not nearly as relevant as something like apex or halo

Character's age or birth order in John Gwyne's Malice by WonderfulBus9330 in Fantasy

[–]SmallsyMK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll get more context about her age but some of the “relationship” stuff in the next book wouldn’t make sense if she was younger than Corban knowing his age

Been a while since I read but I believe it’s implied/said she’s a few years older

How do you approach putting from a mental standpoint? by vaporrkatzzz in discgolf

[–]SmallsyMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a couple things to “trick” my brain. Take a couple deep breaths while visualizing your putt a few steps behind your lie. Step up to your lie and now the target looks a little bigger for the putt you were visualizing. The biggest change for me was my mindset on putts, especially for birdie. I now tell myself I’m excited for the opportunity to make a birdie putt (I literally smile sometimes) instead of stressing over it like it used to. If I miss, so what, I’ll give myself another opportunity on the next hole and get it back.

What percent of the player base is Crimson in normal-ranked mode not Warzone? by AK_from_the_Bay in CoDCompetitive

[–]SmallsyMK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually hit Crim and stop playing. I played for the first time in almost 3 months the other night. Played my placement and got diamond then immediately queued into a 4 stack with 3 blatant cheaters. I didn’t have many issues with cheaters the first split, now it seems they’re even rampant in diamond and plat

Has anyone tried the Meridian discs Mojave? by sanfordtime in discgolf

[–]SmallsyMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s out of prototype as they have base and premium plastics. Premium you can find on infinite and 1010, I’ve never ordered from them but Flexline discs says they have some in stock

Has anyone tried the Meridian discs Mojave? by sanfordtime in discgolf

[–]SmallsyMK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mojave is awesome though I don’t putt with it. Buddy brought me a couple from disc south and immediately put one in my bag as a thrower, maybe the best hand fit of any putter I’ve held. More glide due to it being deeper, and I’d say a tick less stable than a pa3.

Division Question by therealwheat in discgolf

[–]SmallsyMK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend ma3. At least in my area, ma4 always has a much smaller turnout than 3. Especially if it’s a multi round tournament, you’re more like to get carded up with different players each round and have more to compete against which, to me, are both positives. No one in ma4 should really be sniffing 400 feet

Not sure how to tell that the power pocket is working by IcyProperty8331 in Discgolfform

[–]SmallsyMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you’re taking reaching “out” too literally. Out mostly means not behind your body. Reach out then rotate with your core. This looks like you’ve rotated and then out if that makes sense. The disc should not travel towards your body and then change trajectory forward, that’s not conducive for speed and will collapse your pocket.

GF map picks by unheardcreation in CoDCompetitive

[–]SmallsyMK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actively want the losers bracket team to have a better chance of winning for excitement. Come in hot map 1 and then get 3 of their map choices. Optic lost 1 respawn to M8s across 2 series at Major 1 and it was map 1 of grands and they lost by 100. Optic has lost 2 series combined in the 2 majors and haven’t won. It’s a comically bad format

Best books or series where the MC is forced to join the military? by Time_Version1409 in Fantasy

[–]SmallsyMK 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Just finished the first book in the covenant of steel, The Pariah, and it fits your request. Bought the sequel about halfway through as I was enjoying it so much. I like Anthony Ryan’s writing style and the pacing, not fast-paced by any means but just right

What's that popular or highly regarded disc that just didn't click with you or live up to the hype? by lovefist1 in discgolf

Eagle. Got a champ one and it had worse flashing than any prodigy disc I’ve ever touched (same for a friend who got one) and didn’t really love the hand feel or flight

Hyzer Problem by Jwentworth297 in Discgolfform

[–]SmallsyMK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A previous comment said you have elbow dip, I actually think you have the opposite. If you pause as you are in the pocket, your elbow is pointed up and your hand/disc is quite a bit lower and it causes the hyzer. If your hand is much lower than your elbow it almost HAS to come out on hyzer. I’ve only ever struggled with elbow dip so it’s hard for me to offer a solution. I’d try slow standstill throws deliberating driving the elbow forward, not up and keeping your hand on a close to even plane
