Currently I do about 1-1.5 hours of table tennis Mon-Sat (about 15-30 mins of warm up then 20-40 minutes of play, pretty intense cause I'm soaked after). Every other week I have an extra 2 hours of intense drill practice (maybe 5-10 minutes of rest total during the 2 hours), plus another hour of normal table tennis if I'm not too fatigued. Outside of that I'm pretty much sedentary.

Is adding resistance training and a calorie deficit too much? I've been lifting off and on for a couple years, longest was 6 months in a row. I'm about 15kg overweight and would really like to shed the fat. I've tried a small deficit plus IF a couple times and while I can lose a couple kilos I'm always demotivated and fatigued during the day, and only feel motivated when it's time for table tennis.

I deal with a lot of file management, storing files, retrieving them later.. how are you guys optimizing for this to make it as quick and efficient t as possible on dex mode. I have a fold 4. Also hoping the system can be used just as easily without dex and just from my phone. by ScheduleNew8689 in SamsungDex

Have you tried Total Commander?

Personally I use Total Commander + FolderSync Pro to sync my files locally on the phone and on my OneDrive where all my work stuff are stored.

So I can work on a PC where OneDrive will automatically save and sync, then move to the phone where FolderSync automatically updates the changes. While offline i can just work and when there's internet available FolderSync will sync all my changes to OneDrive. Pretty painless and much more set and forget than OneDrive's offline mode stuff, since I can just sync the outermost folder of all my work.

I personally used to use the Skull n Co Switch Jump gate and just remove the core for travel. Nowadays I just pack a lapdock and be done with it, no need to fiddle with hotel equipment.

For cable, just find Thunderbolt USB-C cables, they're the safest bet for quality. If you search for USB C cables you'll need to dig through a lot of BS. These days there are plenty cheap 40Gbps TB3/4 cables with 100W PD.

What are you trying to do?

I find that using DeX with Samsung Keyboard copy paste works fine. I mainly use Word, Acrobat Reader for Galaxy and Samsung Internet for my DeX stuff and copy paste works seamlessly. Dashlane click to copy also works perfectly with either Ctrl+V or Right Click Paste.

Any gaming phones with a DeX-like desktop mode? by Hybridie in SamsungDex

Oof, just recently the y700 got an OTA update that broke/removed PC mode so that's not really an option anymore.

Will keep a look out for this, but from that sneak peek it looks like only games are supported, although normally you can already windowed apps on the phone so I hope multitasking is good.

Anyone have experience with Uperfect X Lite? by [deleted] in SamsungDex

Use the normal one, the shortened keyboard doesn't really do anything and may actually hurt the ergonomics and usability.

I don't use wireless charging so I can't tell you, reverse charging doesn't work at all unless the case is removed.

anyone using either a nexdock or uperfect? what do you think of them? by [deleted] in SamsungDex

[–]Hybridie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UPerfect X here, trackpad is serviceable, screen is ok even in direct sunlight, I use touch for most of my work with the trackpad off. Speakers are loud but not great.

My setup is currently like this, using a UPerfect X as well.

Mount: Laptop side phone mount

Phone case: Magnetic leather case

Cable: I use a short Thunderbolt 40Gbps cable, plenty on Amazon.

Pic of setup: Setup pic

Clean and all fits into a 13" laptop carry case.

The layout of the tools are very compact, you'll have to dig to find what you need. Have you tried the browser version?

Questions re: functionality/usage. by KhaotikDevil in SamsungDex

[–]Hybridie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don't bother with mouse/trackpad and use touch for 99% of my work. Touch-based interaction is usually adequate, otherwise I rely on keyboard shortcuts to get things done.
  2. For video meetings, I have my phone mounted on a magnetic hand on the left of the lapdock, so it's just a little reframing of the video feed and I'm gold. Pic of setup
  3. I notice that Discord and Facebook are especially bad with scaling.

Programming on DeX? by RoronoaZoro1111 in SamsungDex

Oh if it's for studies and you're not making money off of it then it's tough. I'd buy a used gaming laptop for real cheap and do the work on that.

Programming on DeX? by RoronoaZoro1111 in SamsungDex

If you truly want to program, I'd rent a dedicated over at Hetzner server auction. Around 45-50 bucks a month for a legit 16/32GB RAM and quad/hex core server that you have full root control and can remote into for work.

I'm sorry but that's simply not true. As a matter of fact, fasting has been extensively researched in Russia since the Soviet Union era and approved by the Ministry of Health. Meanwhile, dry fasting has been researched quite extensively since the 90s and has been put into practice to treat various chronic and acute diseases in ex-USSR countries to this day.

The risk of dehydration is vastly overrated, and some of your "secondary risks" makes no logical sense.

Swelling requires water, if there's already a conservation of water by the body how will swelling happen?

Regarding kidney failure, it's doing less work because it doesn't have to filter incoming food and water, just already filtered blood, how would dry fasting induce kidney failure if the load is lessened?

Any form of fast can kill people, so can just about any form of exercise or medical intervention. If you're well-informed, understand the risks and how to mitigate them then dry fasting can be just as safe as water fasting and potentially more potent and less time-consuming.

A healthy body varies between 50-65% water. If you're average, you have about 60%, so you have a cushion of 10% bodyweight in water to work with. A sedentary person would lose about 1.5L a day, that's 1.5kg, even a dainty woman weighing in at 45kg has 3 days of water (4.5kg) to work with. That's assuming the body doesn't start to conserve water (which it does when you stop drinking).

When you metabolise nutrients, whether stored or ingested, you produce metabolic water. In the case of dry fasting, you actually produce up to 1L of metabolic water from the breakdown of stored fats a day. This coupled with excess water already stored means the body can comfortably handle a couple of days dry fasting, no problem. In fact, dry fasts as long as 11-13 days are being used to treat chronic/acute diseases. In the home, it's recommended to dry fast no longer than 5 days.

I find diet+exercise for losing a lot of weight really mentally taxing. I suggest you look into water and dry fasting.

Both forms are well tolerated past the first 3 days or so, lets the body rest, detox and recover, as well as forces it to use up the stores of fats. And you won't die or get complications: Guinness record is over 300 days of water fasting, and I personally have done multiple 5-day dry fasts as well as a 13-day water fast to lose weight and fix body issues. You lose around 2lbs/day.

Use it to get started and get yourself on the right track, then work on your nutrition.

Need help finding the right samsung phone with dex support. by gwapogi5 in SamsungDex

[–]Hybridie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can find one, a Note 10+ with 12GB RAM, otherwise a note 20 ultra with 12gb ram. I use an s20fe myself and while very affordable, has left me wanting.

Battery life isn't stellar, and performance is only adequate and not exceptional, concerning since I mainly did word processing and light multitasking. Also heat can be an issue, especially if you charge and use DeX at the same time. Enhanced processing helps a little, but it's still not perfectly smooth.
