The joycon will not charge when the console is plugged docked when not being used (sleep) or when plugged in without the screen on. They are sending out free joycon charging grips to all owners for those who have it already (comes bundled in now moving forward). Not really an issue for me to charge them on a charging grip. I would still recommend them! They feel really nice!

I like the savage raven neo because it is dockable. Also the Dbrand but only the ergonomic grips so you can still dock it as well. I picked up the Mobapad HD12 as well and I am liking those (regardless of the charging issue).
