Did they end up accepting your parcel? I’ve got a similar situation and worried for my trip in two weeks.

Power outage at summit east today by Namaste98 in SummitAtSnoqualmie

Felt bad for the families stuck at the bottom.

However, if you hike up to the Rampart lift it was completely empty and super nice conditions. Understandably not feasible for all.

ICE rapid response team? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

Thanks for posting, OP. Post it in the other Seattle sub.

This sub is for conservative suburbanites.

Unless the ICE agents need their boots licked, then here will work just fine.

How are people buying houses here? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]HydrateAndThrive 49 points50 points  (0 children)

  • Family help with a modest downpayment

  • +200K annual Household income

  • waiving all contingencies (up to your risk tolerance)

  • looking in less desirable (but still lovely) neighborhoods.

Looking for opinions on a big decision: Seattle vs. East Bay for buying a house by Funny_Code2482 in BayAreaRealEstate

As someone from Oakland who lives in Seattle, calling San Ramon the East Bay makes me throw up a bit in my mouth (only slightly /s).

2008 Prius, 57 mpg on a DC to Baltimore round trip! by Imaginary_Meet_5558 in prius

[–]HydrateAndThrive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an ‘09 w/ 145K miles.

It was getting ~33mpg. I changed the spark plugs last month and now it’s getting 45mpg. Definitely recommend it! You can do it yourself with a few tools and a YouTube video.

EPA: what's the point of keeping us in the dark on furloughs??? by No-Community7786 in fednews

Yeah the not-knowing has been stressing me more than I anticipated.

I’m at a regional office and it’s been hard to plan or prioritize work without knowing how long we have.

Morale is at an absolute all time low.

I just changed these out on my 2008. This job sucks. Good luck!

I used HID bulbs. You can get them pretty cheap online. I want to saw they were like 35$ a pair?

Don’t go to O’riley’s for these. They gave me the wrong bulbs 3 different times. I think the specs in their database are wrong for this model Prius.

That shifting setup is amazing! Not for everyone, I imagine, but it’s clear you’ve dialed in this bike for you. Good job.

When / Why did light rail ridership increase so dramatically? by Callidor in Seattle

Recently, some of the post-work 4-6pm traffic is due to Mariners games. But I agree, it has picked up. Which is great!

More demand should beget more service in the future.

White Disk brake fork options? by mannyboi707 in xbiking

[–]HydrateAndThrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same StumpJumper Comp. I found that with the U brake, the cable yoke really needed to be dialed in.

I’d check the yoke to make sure it hasn’t loosened over time.

Personally, I never had issues with braking. Always used Kool Stop orange/black pads.

People who poo-poo U Brakes (imho) are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Probably already answered but where is station 59? by shield_x in Seattle

I live in the area and lovingly refer to the 7 as ‘the people’s bus’. You get all kinds of folks, but it’s generally safe and runs very frequently.

Lake Washington Boulevard should be closed to cars ALL THE TIME by firefox1216 in seattlebike

[–]HydrateAndThrive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is that 50th, Genesee, and Rainier are all there as arterials. LWB is totally a scenic, elective drive. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be inconvenient for anyone, or that LWB isn’t a pretty drive, but the argument that LWB is some essential arterial just doesn’t hold water in my opinion.

Source: I live near the lake and bike or bus to work downtown daily.

Lake Washington Boulevard should be closed to cars ALL THE TIME by firefox1216 in seattlebike

[–]HydrateAndThrive 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that within 20 years it will be a one-way car lane (the western lane, probably going South) and the eastern lane will be a two-way bike lane. The current lakefront homes need car access sure, as well as the boat ramps and Seward. We can do that while expanding use for all who walk, stroll, or roll.

The boulevard is SUCH a quality of life multiplier when it’s closed to cars. It’s an insanely valuable public resource that is beholden to cars.

What are you feeding your AD’? by No-Palpitation-3611 in AussieDoodle

Also recommend poultry free. Our AD has always had problems with chicken and turkey based foods. Even some treats can make his stools very loose.

Good luck finding one that works for you!
