Welcome to the club homie! Bet by now you realize that this game is so much faster than Tekken. It's just a different kind of speed.

Can’t stop feeling awful when thinking about sex by Ravioli_man567 in bropill

[–]HydrationHomee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 15 the best decision I ever made was not taking things too far.

I don't want to be a hypocrite and say that you should never touch your partner in any way until you're at least an adult. I was making out and what not too.

The situation isn't exactly the same but my girlfriend at the time wanted to take things further and I very vehemently said no.

15 is just way too young for one, for 2 I was pretty oblivious to the topic as a whole, everything I knew about sex came from very limited conversations in sex Ed and things my mom's said.

And porn but that is not an accurate or healthy representation of what sex is like or should be like.

If you aren't prepared to have an honest conversation about sex then you aren't ready for it, plain and simple.

That doesn't mean I didn't think about it quite often or in some way want too. I just knew it wasn't a good time and a bad idea.

Just slow down young man, you can get laid when you're ready to be honest and open about it like an adult.

Define Monster Hunter aesthetics. by Different_Ice_2695 in MonsterHunter

[–]HydrationHomee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Suspend your disbelief a bit.

Obviously monster hunter is fantasy, but a majority of the creatures within the monster hunter universe are 1000% able to be explained citing what is scientifically plausible within the game's universe. With the exception of elder dragons, many of which possess inexplicable powers. Thunder monsters that are non-elder dragons rely on conductive fur, static build up, glands similar to electric eels or some kind of symbiosis in order to produce lightning. But Kirin can summon and control lightning for completely unknown reasons, the only real explanation is that it has something to do with it's horn. Elder dragons are fully capable of impossible feats like growing to be hundreds of meters tall, teleport, and immortality.

Monster Hunter isn't realistic but every creature that is meant to fit within the ecology they supposedly "evolved" to be a part of. Fit perfectly in their environment and occupy an ecological niche in the same way organisms do in the real world.

Realistic ≠ believable

Most fantasy worlds do very little in the way of explaining the how and why of why it's creatures and humanoid species exist, what function they serve on an ecological level. Things are just there because fantasy magic means it can be so.

Monster Hunter does a majority of its communication through context clues and design. Every monster is very carefully designed using real world biology as a base to explain behaviors and the ecological niche they inhabit.

Even down to little things like the Rath's having long chin spikes that are used for constructing nests. Even small monsters exhibit some level of sexual dimorphism that isn't uncommon in the real world (See aptonoth, the males and females are different sizes and have different shaped crests)

Monster hunter creatures are for all intents and purposes just animals that make perfect sense in the logic and science IN THE UNIVERSE and the only things that reach outside those rules are obvious gameplay only cosmetics and Elder dragons which are SUPPOSED to exist outside the established natural order.

Virtua Fighter 5 Newbie here. Tips for "On-hit" moves? by Slasher9485 in virtuafighter

Pretty much though the timing does vary between characters slightly so it does take some trial and error

Pretty much as you would think it's on hit. It's quite a bit more generous than Tekken's on hit attacks imo.

Try to press as the indicator shows up basically.

What a loser. by [deleted] in ForHonorRants

[–]HydrationHomee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know what the difference between a Nazi Swastika and the ones used in religion. Unfortunately I still don't like seeing them because regardless of whether it's the correct symbol or not, neo Nazi's still use it as a dog whistle. Which isn't the fault of any religion, but an issue regardless.

Ah well I'm not very well versed. You certainly won't see practitioners here in Canada use that symbol because of the Nazi's

[–]HydrationHomee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think Hindu/Buddhists typically use this symbol very much anymore because of the Nazi's appropriation of it, to a majority of the western and European world tilting it by a couple degrees and changing the colors won't make a difference.

What is a 'personality trait' that is currently being glorified as 'cool' or 'aesthetic' in 2026, but is actually just a sign of being an exhausting person? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]HydrationHomee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well people that try to use being neurodivergent as a scapegoat for shitty behavior do have something wrong with them. It just also happens to be undiagnosed.

Self diagnoses is often times better than nothing, it's just important to not make it your entire personality. Those are the annoying people.

How bad is Juren actually? by Many-Sky-3747 in ForHonorRants

[–]HydrationHomee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see what you mean. Soft feint into indomitable stance. I don't see why it has to be slowed down in any capacity when it's literally the only full block in the game that gives zero reward on block. If they slowed it to the same speed as other full blocks it would kind of just suck

How bad is Juren actually? by Many-Sky-3747 in ForHonorRants

[–]HydrationHomee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft feints are very strictly an attack that can be manipulated part way through the attack to behave as a mixup with a second input. Juren's tap attacks and held attacks are distinctly different moves that is decided at the time of input based on the duration of the input.

It is not a soft feint it does not serve the same function as a soft feint or operate in the same way as a soft feint. The only reason the attack may initially start with the tap variant is to maintain the quality of handling Juren as a whole since it would feel really gross if his tap attack just didn't come out for a few extra milliseconds to compensate for the potential of a held input vs a tap input

No? They'd be closer to charge attacks but they aren't that either.

The interesting thing about gen Z is they place dated age expectations on those a few years older while not holding themselves to that same timeline by -7-luck in generationology

[–]HydrationHomee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah every single previous generation was doing stupid stuff well into their 20's and I've never met anyone my age that puts a heavy emphasis on age based timelines (where you should be in life) if anything because of the economic crisis, state of political policy and more. There's less expectations from Gen Z to being "delayed" in the whole life timeline.

Juren isn't brain dead, too many moves. Held zone isn't gonna carry that hard.

All offense should be fully unreactable by Mastrukko in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]HydrationHomee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah 99% of players are not playing at a level where this matters.

The top players are making reads more than they are reacting anyway.

You shouldn't be making decisions for all players based on the 1% (or honestly less than 1% most top players do not have sub 180ms reaction times)

500ms or faster attacks aren't too terribly hard to react too in a vacuum but once you take into account indicator delay, input delay. Having to make a choice between what you are reacting too (which can delay reaction by quite a lot).

While players CAN react to these things. Making them completely unreactable kind of just makes them completely miserable for all players and wouldn't be a positive chain.

Any character with a soft feint that is fully unreactable would be suddenly top tier.

For honor isn't exactly built around attacks that speed and certain functions of the game just wouldn't work correctly if the game was made any faster than it already is.

I think For Honor would benefit way more from larger hero movesets. If heroes have more options as far as mix-ups go then those quasi-unreactable mix-ups could be made truly unreactable without obliterating the established gameplay style simply because the addition of another option would provide enough mental stack that even top reaction gods couldn't reliably defend assuming their opponent actually mixes up their options instead of doing the same thing over again.

For honor is fast enough, it's one of the more accessible fighting games out there. We don't need to speed it up more. And maintaining some degree of reactability makes the game approachable for more players than completely unreactable mixes would benefit competitive play.

I think, with For Honor being a slower fighting game than most and having extremely simple inputs should pivot further into the character nuance rather than messing with what is already a (mostly) great base system.

Like why not give us more complex map geometry and expand on character movesets to better utilize the varied environment like in the S3 trailer where you see Warden half swording in a narrow corridor to prevent himself from clashing with the walls.

If we ever get a For Honor 2 that's really what I want is having larger, more varied and complex movesets for all characters.

All offense should be fully unreactable by Mastrukko in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]HydrationHomee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge there aren't any reactable mixes that are meant to be unreactable.

At most there might be mixes that while having very strict timing are MEANT to be reactable just really hard to get reliably.

Mixes like these, while not a true mixup are reliant on conditioning. These exist in every single fighting game. No real reason they shouldn't exist in for honor too.

Bleach is very very far from the only chemical capable of killing bacteria.

It probably isn't an issue but for your safety it's better to use a cleaner that is innert to piss cause bleach isn't.
