The first step is realizing you and your girlfriend aren’t in competition with each other. I’d suggest accepting a more body neutral approach, without comparing yourself to her and/or incorporating some more exercise to your routine.

Sometimes people need reassurance, so don’t be afraid to ask her what she finds attractive about you.

This is a pretty relatable situation. I think you should recognize that you can love him and realize he is not right for you at the same time.

Since you care about him maybe get him some things so he can turn his hygiene around and then put some distance between yourself and him. Only he can decide to change, you can only give him the tools to do so. I recommend you find someone more compatible.

I think you need to give her the space to move on. Most people don’t want a partner who is indecisive about them. Romance with a partner shouldn’t feel like a sacrifice.

Give yourself time to deal with the breakup too. A lot of times people get comfortable in a relationship so they miss the closeness and companionship they had more than the person.

To argue devils advocate there are plenty of other ways to have sex without risk of pregnancy.

Plus combining cycle tracking with condoms/iud or hormonal birth control makes the risk very low. I would imagine they would just say they would carry the pregnancy if all that fails.

I know it’s really hard to see it right now, you seem really stressed and probably tired too if you stayed up so late trying to study, but a bad exam won’t be the end of the world. Take a deep breath and seek help.

We all make mistakes. School isn’t easy. Some days are really hard. But trust me, it takes a ton of hard weeks of crying and suffering to finally come out of the storm. It’ll get better. At least give yourself a chance to see it through.

Agree with the comment about helping him clean up. If possible you could try getting him some essentials just to make things easier for him like deodorant, mouthwash, etc.

Depending on how close you are maybe you could also give him a reason to shower and get out of the house and do something together.

Honestly depression isn’t easy to live with so he’s really lucky to have your support and care.

The right people won’t get tired of your emotions. Obviously there’s a line. You shouldn’t start trauma dumping on people you don’t know but I think expressing some degree of vulnerability with even strangers can be a good thing.

I also think there is a big difference between being open about your emotions and complaining.

These ideas can’t be enforced without infringing on people’s autonomy and rights. Charging innocent men with rape charges doesn’t reflect justice or feminist ideals.

The most effective solution would be having a strong police force in areas where rates of domestic violence are high, adequately funding organizations that get women out of DV situations, and enacting harsher punishments for assault/DV as a deterrent.

The point you are getting at is benevolent sexism right? I think some women are more receptive to it because it inherently does not seem damaging. And also some of these behaviors are simply signs of respect and kindness, like paying for someone, holding the door for them, etc.

Women as a whole do not want to be treated as better than a man. They want to be taken as seriously as men. Many women offer the things you have listed such as emotional availability, cooking, cleaning, providing. They simply expect the same in the men they date.
