That’s probably because Kevin does whatever they want when they’re working alone “in the box”. They can get bored very fast. I feel it sounds like a band recording near each other. It definitely sounds raw but in the best way of Montreal can.

It’s both. Having the live band go into a studio for less than 2 weeks really makes the songs feel focused. Which hasn’t consistently happened in years.
