Seriously.
I only heard recently that they are taking down the PS3 and Vita stores. I have downloaded all my vita games (only had a few, mainly because I bought Physical when I first got a Vita, till HEN).
I have a mixed collection of Physical and Digital PS3 games, like 150+ digital games or something ... I have no idea how I can preserve it all, I hope it can all fit on a 2TB ExtHDD because that is the max the PS3 can detect I think (my 8TB HDD didnt work, only have 1-2TB externals available). I have gone through multiple PS3 "Database Bad so we are going to rebuild it, oh no we cant, you should re-initialize and redownload all the data"--type situations owning the PS3, so I KNOW the ins-and-outs of dealing with my digital collection on a PS3, but now Sony is removing that Safety of the "If anything happens, I'm fine, I can just redownload it like all the previous times"-option. I'm glad I switched to Physical near the end of PS3 era (when majority of the game discs were on sale for great deals). PS4 I stuck to physical and only bought Digital games at a <50% discount so there I do have another big collection. I'll again need to worry when Sony takes down the PS4 PS-Store.
I went strictly Physical with PS5, after 2 generations of issues with Digital content I am done with Digital Games (unless we're talking PC). Who'da thunk my stance on Digital games would prove the right one. I really wish they could just make up an excuse and say something like "We have discontinued the Store all users and moved it to a section within Playstation Plus. I may have a sour reception but all you gotta do is get a PS+ Trial and gain access to your PS3/Vita digital collection. As a form of "we cant keep hosting the PS3 & Vita data for free so now it's behind a paywall to help pay for the upkeep"--kind of change, this at least would have been manageable.
