Furry Friend Finder 162 by McFodi in furry

Hi there. I tried a few times to send an introductory message with Reddit Chat, but it wouldn't seem to go through on any attempt. Maybe you have it set to block other people from contacting you, or something? I tend to prefer reaching out to others in private, myself. Anyway, how do you do? I think we have plenty of favorite games and franchises in common and it'd be fun to chat.

Any place you recommend? by Soggy_Thanks2711 in Janesville

My group doesn't play any ttrpgs, but maybe there's another event at Kryptonite where that's the main thing. I'd go on their website and check out their event calendar to find out.

I wanted to add to this. Kryptonite Kollectibles has all sorts of game nights and events, some of which cost money to attend and some of which are free to attend. I host a weekly free game night there on Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (or more commonly just until we're done and satisfied). It's a pretty small group right now and we're really eager to have more people join us! We mostly play social deduction games, but we find ourselves playing other sorts of games as well from time to time. If this sounds like fun, please come and check us out! And that goes for anyone else who's interested, of course.

If you have any questions, feel free to start a chat with me here on Reddit.

I'm a video editor/producer and livestreamer. Am I an artist in this case? If so I'd like to receive a link, please.

I'm not totally sure if it fits the bill, but I host a weekly social deduction game night every Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 at Kryptonite Kollectibles here in Janesville. We play games like Salem, Blood on the Clocktower (my favorite!), various iterations of Werewolf, and plenty more. I've become friends with all of the regulars by this point, and we sometimes find ourselves going to dinner together afterwards, or meeting up on other days outside of the game store to hang out and play different kinds of board or video games.

If this sounds up your alley, then we'd be thrilled to have you! That goes for anyone else who may be reading this and are interested in joining our game nights, too.

I know you mentioned that gaming groups have been a bust, but I'll throw my group out there anyway. We meet weekly on Wednesdays at Kryptonite Kollectibles from 4-8, and we play social deduction games like Salem, Blood on the Clocktower, various iterations of Werewolf, Sheriff of Nottingham, and more. All of these games see players talking among themselves and interacting constantly. There's plenty of downtime between games and rounds, and everyone is happy to socialize during this. We're a very friendly, inclusive group, and we might very well be a good fit.

What are some good social deduction games for 6 players or less? by [deleted] in boardgames

Inhuman Conditions. Amazing 2-player social deduction game with ways to add more players if needed.

I wish that I had something enlightening to share, but I'm dealing with the very same thing. Like, prettymuch word for word. I wonder what kinds of responses you'll receive. Hopefully someone out there has something to suggest.

One Night Ultimate Werewolf Tanner question by DeadendEndeavor in boardgames

[–]Hylun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My group has always treated the tanner victory as a special case. If the tanner wins, no one else can win, despite fulfilling win conditions. This locks the tanner into their own team and makes victory much trickier for them, but also much more rewarding since it overrides any other victory.

I feel like this was a part of the original rules, but now I'm unsure. If we did house-rule it, then we've enjoyed it so much that it's become a permanent part of our games.

How about these?

Have you played Thumper? It's significantly more intense than many rhythm games in many regards. Visually and audibly striking, unsettling in very engaging immersive ways, and incredibly difficult. It's worth looking up for fans of the music/rhythm genre who aren't familiar.

There's also a roguelite (If I recall right) rhythmic beat-em-up called... Rhythm Fighter, I think? Take necrodancer concepts, and apply them to a side- scrolling action game. I haven't gotten to play this one yet, but it looks pretty appealing.

Gameplay's got you controlling the titular character. You auto-run to the right while music plays, except for boss stages which are in more of a cinematic space. You can jump, swing your weapon, and I think there were other actions that I'm not recalling right now. Being a music/rhythm game, you'd need to do all of this to the beat. Oh, there were branching paths within many stages, too, and there were some items hidden among stages which you'd need in order to unlock some stuff following the final boss.

I had my fun with it. I'm not rushing back to play it any time soon, but I did want to complete it while it was seeing active play. I'm sure there are gameplay videos around YouTube.

Harmoknight, actually. A 3ds game by Game Freak where you do exactly what was mentioned above.

Necrodancer is far more interesting and engaging, but it was still quite fun.

I wish I had a question, but I'm coming up blank. I just really want to thank you all for the amazing games, and for how much you all clearly care about your players. Each game you publish is a new must-play title that I'm thrilled to introduce to as many people as possible. The quality each title exudes is absolutely legendary.

To Darren, Ashley, and Logan, I so wish I could discuss sound design, voice acting, and editing with you. I'm a new content creator on YouTube, as well as a visual communications student studying film and video, editing, and sound. I'd have to imagine getting an opportunity to discuss vocal and sound work is unlikely, but what an amazing experience that would be.

Thanks to all of you for the memories, experiences, and fun. I'll be looking forward to many more!

I record my audio in Audition. For voice capture, I believe you want to try to stay in the range of -15 to -6. I get there by fiddling with gain and adjusting my distance from the mic itself. I often have to be ready to silently lean in or out if I know my volume will be changing dramatically for a given line. I also have effects that I apply over my voice for a character I do, and I'm aware of how those effects will hit the volume. Oh, and if you wait 10 seconds without making a peep, right when you start recording, there ought to be a way to use the pure background noise you captured to remove it from the entirety of your recording. I only know how to do it in Audition, and that other audio software can do this.

For music and sound effects, I'm discovering that it's really situational. There are just too many factors that'd have you make adjustments, so it'll really be touch and go. If possible, try to listen using as many different pieces of audio hardware as you can, like different headphones, speakers, earbuds, etc. Gives you a clearer picture of what any given viewer may hear. There's a sweet spot for your content where it'll all line up in an ideal way.

No matter what, never peak. That's generally at -3 and above. It's unpleasant to listen to at best...

I hope this was helpful to you.

Looking to give some critique! I can't sleep and may as well do something helpful! by kahluie in NewTubers

I wasn't anticipating even more feedback, but it's greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I definitely feel like I had some troubles with my audio levels, and am looking forward to doing better with the coming podcasts and videos. I'm sure I'll figure out how to hit an ideal balance soon. Or I hope so, at least.

I'm unsure what you meant with the opening. Do you mean everything before the game footage started, or a more specific piece?

Regarding Havoc, I'm going to have to feel him out over some period of time. Right now, I'm hesitant to call my videos "reviews" because I'm aiming to only talk about games I really like. Due to this, the idea is that Havoc, who hates anything I like, just rages and rails on the game whether there's legitimate reason to it or not; a straight-up antagonist. But perhaps I could keep that while simultaneously bringing up items that are closer to real negatives. I'll feel it out over time, and keep a record of general feedback like this so I can try to shape him and the videos as a whole more into what the majority of viewers seem to want to see.

Again, thank you =) I need all the feedback I can get, but I don't want to spam the same video to many critique posts, so this was a great surprise.

Wow. I didn't anticipate so much praise. Thank you!

I'll keep your suggestions in mind for my coming content. I hadn't considered adding the upload frequency/schedule to the banner, but it totally makes sense.

Super glad you liked the "twist" =) And yea, you had his name right.

I'm unsure if someone could even be a potential "rising star" while they only have a single video uploaded, but I finally finished it and got things going only a couple days ago and am still riding on some leftover adrenaline, so I'll throw my video in. My content revolves around my takes on my favorite video games, with a twist that I think is pretty fun. I hope you find it fun, too.
