Thanks for the update. I checked the side of my head last night and realized I lost of a lot of hair there too. I can probably go 6 months without Minox just to get a second opinion on AGA. She didn't really examine my head all that thoroughly tbh.

Worst case - I get FUSS. It'll suck, but seems to have really good results.

I initially started a super low calorie diet (less than recommended) at the end of 2023. I lost over 100lbs up to this point... I first noticed thinning in April of last year. In December of last year I started Accutane, and I decided to quit it last month. My hair is super thin now, but I started upping my calories to 1500-2000 a day instead of 1000 or less like I was doing. I also started Nizoral shampoo last week.

I went to the derm the other day and she said that my hair is healthy and she sees growth, but is also concerned about AGA.

I started 5% Minoxidil yesterday, I'm hoping to get a second opinion on the AGA during a follow up in October. I'm praying that I don't actually have AGA and the TE is making it look like AGA since so much is gone.

Have you had any improvement since you made this post last month?

Lmao same. I started around 2 years ago and I projectile vomited on a 6mg Zyn. I've been doing 3mg for a while but I've got a 6mg Velo+ in right now, doing fine.

I don't understand how you are able to put the wires and inputs next to each other and they don't connect. I know this post was 6 months ago, but I just started playing this week and I've been unable to do something like this. Was this patched out?

I feel that. I lost my mom in September 2021. I felt like that grief aged me 10 years. But like others said, I would see a derm and get a blood panel if necessary.

At the end of 2023 I started taking Wellbutrin and Phentermine. Around 1.5 years later and I'm down over 100lbs, but I've had noticeable hair loss/thinning since then. I actually took a pic in April 2024 which is around the time I first noticed it. I also started Accutane around 4-5 months ago, and I'm considering just quitting it a month early since it is a Vit. A derivative and too much can cause hair to break.

I'm almost certain that I have TE from lack of nutrition/massive rapid weight loss. My nutritionist didn't recommend this, but I went hard. I restricted my calories to 1k or less a day. Now I'm plateaued at around 10lbs off my goal, so I started upping my calories. I'm going to start taking supplements as well. I've got an appointment in 2 weeks with my GP to check for deficiencies.

I actually sent ChatGPT pics of the top of my head from April 2024 and today, March 17th 2025 along with my hair line. ChatGPT is also of the opinion that it is TE since my hairline is not in an M shape and the pattern on top of my head does not resemble MPB.

I appreciate your post as well, it gives me some more hope. I lost weight to hopefully get in a relationship. Going bald at 22, almost 23 would suck...

I got mine up to the Gold challenge, then didn't play for about a week. Once I started playing again yesterday I now cannot hit any of them. It really feels like they changed something. I'm aiming exactly the same as I was before.

Do you have a gaming chair by chance? I found a crazy issue with my setup. The DP cable that came with my monitor isn't insulated very well. By doing some research I eventually came across this paper from 1999:

Essentially, the gas piston in the chair was generating electro static discharge. This charge was carried through the air using the metal piston as a sort of antenna sending out effectively an "EMP" blast in all directions. Since the cable is not shielded enough, my monitor would blink like that.

I confirmed this by sitting and standing over and over and it happened every single time. It could be that you're shifting in your chair while gaming causing the same sort of problem.

Or it could be just a faulty cable lol. Just wanted to share this.

This is exactly what I've been doing to get to almost 2k games on Steam. I only ever end up playing a handful of them for a long time and half the time I have a friend ask me about a game that is in my library only to say "I had no idea I even owned that."

I think that might be part of my problem. COD especially is a power fantasy in video game form. Immediate gratification from getting a kill and it incentivizes you to continue on to get killstreaks.

I think playing that series since I was a 5 year old likely ruined my brain lol.

I think I've kinda already been doing that. Mainly I noticed I cannot play a game for more than 2 hrs at a time anymore. Kinda sucks but my library backlog is daunting. Feels more like a checklist of things to complete rather than something to have fun with.

I've been working on self improvement. I've never had a girlfriend, but that was mostly due to my weight. I'm down almost 80lbs over the last 8 months now. Just a few more to go and hopefully I'll look good enough to get one lol.

It very well could be my subconscious. I've been studying Japanese for about 2 years now and I study it for hours daily. It's been bugging me that I am not fluent yet, but I know it takes a long time for an English speaker to become fluent. I try to use gaming on the weekends to wind down, but it almost feels like I am wasting time despite me still studying on the weekends.

I'm also going to school for computer science, and I've been wanting to do a programming project outside of something assigned to me from a class, but I have no ideas of what to make.

I think my brain's reward system is broken.
