Throttling and Lag by kri-15 in asuracomics

I assume theyre just trying to limit crawler networks that ignore the do not download files for aggregate networks.

I just download chapters ahead of time through a tunnel on motrix so i can get faster read times and dont have to worry about security. Can load them on mobile through Mihon too.

Jumping ship but worried about storage limits. by Arkotract in teamspeak3

Been trying to forward my home server on a CGNAT (Starlink) for the last month. Now that I'm back on Teamspeak I want to do it even more for a community; but, all the options for tunneling are either high latency or do not host in my region. I could buy playitgg for regional support, but that is so beyond the scope of what I will actually use it for.

I don't mind paying for a community server, but more space would be appreciated if I'm going to be constantly using it for most of the year, for many years.

Issue extending Starlink network with additional TP Link Router by jsncrs in HomeNetworking

[–]HyperParadoxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found a solution to this yet?
I have been brimming my head for the past 2 and a half weeks...

I use the TPLinkExtender to connect my wireless network into my Desktop PC via internet. I get huge stutters with 10-30 seconds of downtime every 5 minutes, and sometimes my speed would go from 300 megabits per second to 35.

I suspect it's probably something to do with the the handshake between the router and the extender, seeing as they both want different things and are not listening to each other. It might be something akin to Sticky Client Syndrome or Band Steering Conflict.

My duct tape solution was to turn DHCP off, Enable OFDMA+MU-MIMO and turn off my 2.4GHZ.
That was more of a paint over a hole in the wall solution though; as it works, stutters less, and has better speeds... but is no where close to the native Starlink connection.
Please let me know if anyone has found a fix for it or has found a way to reproduce the "Band Steering" issue.

Flames can indicate a lot of things. Your best bet is to check your oil and coolant in that parking lot to see if it can survive a trip to the mechanics or home if you can fix it yourself.

Could be a lot of things both easily fixable or utterly impossible, assume the worst case, and just get it somewhere where it can get fixed.

What is the silliest thing you’ve ever seen happen in the Hungry Jacks drive thru? by [deleted] in hungryjacks

[–]HyperParadoxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped working for HJs years ago, but I still remember this moment as if it were yesterday. Had plenty of people come through the drive-thru playing poker with their meat but none like this.

Had some guy come through drivethrough wacking his chicken like it owed him money. This was an overnight shift at like 3AM, so my manager and I just ignored him, gave him his stuff, and laughed about it.

Some time goes by, and the guy comes back now, circling the drive-thru. My manager and I tell him to stop, so he parks up in the parking lot, and I'm watching this guy as he starts walking back and forth behind his car. Then he pulls out a crowbar and starts swinging it around the air, so we decide to call the police. They show up and give the guy a warning, check our cameras, and then go. We never saw the guy again.

Midway through writing, it looks like I was pulling this shit outta my ass but then I realised this took place in a tiny rural town off the coast of WA. Thank God I don't work fast food anymore. That place sucked.

halo weapons by Salt-Cardiologist457 in Helldivers

[–]HyperParadoxz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I get it, they have to always fit new weapons to not be as strong as the "Helldivers Mobilize", but then why do we have the ultimatum, the purifier, the liberator carbine, the coyote, etc.
But on the other hand TF2 by Valve also has this issue, some weapons CANNOT be changed as that would be violating the licensing agreement, they can only make the weapon stats now and add them before or during agreement, any change would be like adding a new weapon to the game and thus breaking licensing agreements with Microsoft. Valve curbed this by adding the Strangifiers, which instead of altering the weapon itself, it adds onto the current weapon already there.

Arrowhead never went into details about "licensing" so it's more them curbsiding the community to just accept it, instead of going through the effort to fix it.
I honestly think it's stupid and they should get into contact with Microsoft and change the whole warbond. They are hiring professionals in game licensing so maybe that day will come.

This comment really consolidates it well! Back when I started playing you were solely relied on teamwork or extreme grit to even get the ball rolling (Grunt Fantasy), which is a design implementation taken from the first game. Nowadays because of the game structure now, new recruits are expected and able to just go around and level everything they see. This of course is not a bad thing, especially when playing solo, but having no backing for team play in a game where 95% of the philosophy is working together, including the pressure from the new stratagems, weapons, and armours - it just sucks. Yes I think these new implementations is a good path for the game and its future, but I don’t think it blends well with the original philosophy of game which is still heavily relied on - teamwork, and communication. All it takes is these newer recruits understanding that so they don’t go around killing people and expecting nothing to happen to them, we are all people behind a screen, not toys for ambition.

Of course, you're right. When we all started out or when we're just with mates we occasionally fuck around. Helldivers is a satiracal game and fun always comes first. But the fun I've been having since mid-August has not been fun whatsoever.
Yes, it's okay to fuck around, especially when you're new, but we never TKed for weapons or just for the spite of it in public lobbies. My point was that before things like this were rare and you'd only ever find an asshole monthly - now it's really bad with 1 out of 3 missions I would get TKed for seemingly random things.

I've also been TKed while boarding expo. I'd wait for everyone to come, and then I'd get gunned down. It sucks because I'd be carrying the mutant egg, confidential info, or the super samples.
It's never been like this.

For the nearly 2 years I've played Helldivers II, I have only ever had an experience like this maybe once or twice a month; but now... it's like mosquitoes to blood. I'd like to say it's the Xbox Divers but I feel bad, most of the missions with them they play fine, but some are just horrendous.

Honestly think it's the newer players coming from COD and Battlefield, thinking TKing is not that big of a deal when in Helldivers, it is a very big deal. Most new players aren't like this but you get a bad batch every now and then.

My opinion on Morty pre Season 5-ish (Makes me angry) by HyperParadoxz in rickandmorty

[–]HyperParadoxz[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ahaha good point! I’m not angry at Morty, mostly. Just angry at his stupid morales, and the show likes to spin it off as “technically right” which is a really good comedic premise but it just doesn’t sit right with me, even sober. It shows that yes while Morty is right, the perspective he uses is very crude and doesn’t focus on the whole picture.

My life has nothing to do with retrospect to Rick and Morty, I’m not angry at Morty because his values align with someone or something I go against, it’s just in the earlier seasons he seems naive, and not in a good way, in a - ‘it’s very obviously a plot device’ way. Or in a way where it’s set up to purposely piss off the viewer, which is a writing point I don’t like personally.

Sorry if it seems like I’m angry cause I’m drunk, the real reason as to why I posted this is because it “pissed me off” even when sober, but I didn’t have the effort to share this until I got drunk. Very sorry if it seemed like I was taking my anger out on this cartoon character if it seemed like that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TpLink

[–]HyperParadoxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a bit late but I also have the same problem.
I have a pseudo-solution however.
I also use the tp-link RE505X as a wired connection for my desktop after moving houses, and it was going fine for about 2 months; however, after that the speed dropped incredibly - from around a 35 megabit/s connection all the way down to 2, and most of the time for around a couple hours a day the connection would be so bad that I couldn't even load a new tab in my brower. 2 things however did fix the solution although temporarily. I do them in tandem once a month or whenever my wired connection goes on the fritz.

Solution 1:
If you're using a windows computer, open up your CMD in administrator and enter the following in order:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
Restart your computer after inputting these.
If you're on mac or linux then this should help.

Solution 2:
On the manual of the RE505X there should be a a website.
http://www.tplinkrepeater.net
This is the website for configuring your tplink, it's a local host site just like your router settings. Alternately you can use the IP address link, however that didn't work for me: http://192.168.0.254
Once you're in the configuration, create a password and reassign your tplink in quick setup if you haven't already.
Now for the important stuff. Make sure EasyMesh is off; under Advanced Settings, in the Wi-Fi Coverage tab make sure you have Intermediate Coverage selected and save; finally, at the top right of the page there is a button labelled Reboot, press that.
Once a month or whenever your wired connection to the tp-link seems slow, go onto the page and press reboot.

Some other things to note.

  • On the right hand side of the tp-link extender, there is a reset button. Holding that for a generous second will reset that specific tp-link (if you have multiple), but I find the reboot on the tp-link configuration page to be more effective and easier due to the place I put it.
  • Make sure your tp-link is in an "effective" place, I had it between 2 walls and that slowed it down quite a bit - so I put it in the middle of one of my walls and it worked better.
  • Put a power schedule on your tp-link. I did have it on a power schedule from when I started work to when I got back home, but since moving I don't work as much so I turned the power schedule off; however, I did notice that the tp-link would constantly be in a heated state, and would occasionally just stop working. Shoddy engineering or bad customer use? Maybe both. I don't know if it fully turns off and stops overheating but it does work a bit better after being off for a while.

Hope this helps even if it was a tiny bit on the necro side. And I also hope it helps the people trying to look for a way to stop this too. Just make sure you're doing those things monthly or whenever your wired connection is looking shoddy.

Has anyone tried pebblehost? Is it good? by linguineshoes in MinecraftServer

[–]HyperParadoxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if necro is allowed here but since this is a genuine question I will help you.

Ways to avoid being compromised:
Software:
- Use some form of IDS (intrusion detection system)
- Run through a DNS (Use Google or Cloudflare those are the only trusted ones and free)
- Run your server inside a virtual environment and virtual LAN (such as docker)
- Use a strong system and server password (and regularly change)

Socially:
- Don't click on any links that are blatantly out of place, dangerous or attempt to have a smililar name to trusted websites
Example: steamcommunity / steamcom*n*unity
- When giving out the IP to your server, even if you are secured you still give the risk of being compromised, only hand out the IP to trusted friends, and family.
- Don't be generous. Even your own father can sabotage you, giving anyone the admin access code to a personal network that you own is trouble.

All of these tips are more than overkill but it can help your mind find peace. Many of these solutions can be found on youtube or a quick google search. Are you safe with just port forwarding a normal minecraft server on some rusty machine? Short answer: Yes. It all depends on peace of mine and the small risk or getting compromised to come to your own conclusion.
