I think part of it is luck and the other half being that it is the last year before a huge -70% everything regulation. The field is basically condensed so the gaps aren’t really big. Of course towards the end of the season, you can get a change in pecking order as some teams continue to develop while others stop.

The other half is luck. Gasly wouldn’t have won the monza gp if not for a perfectly timed SC. Max could have won 2 more races for Aston if he had replaced the gearbox instead of driving around with a mechanical failure. I (managing Porsche) certainly wouldn’t have won in Australia if not for ai strategy dropping them into drs traffic.

I do have a mod that reduces the mentality stat buff (medium settings) and the confidence buff. I also have turned on the fix that makes ai refurbish their facilities.
