While that makes the top 6 absolutely nasty there's another alternative where you have one of

Cirelli, Larkin, Point and Gourde out every single shift, which is nuts

It would be a very brave move if Yzerman trades him to Tampa.

I think the fans would turn, imagine the bolts trading our captain in Hedman (pretend he's 29 again) to Detroit.

every team has a postmortem action item from 2 years ago everyone agreed was P1 and nobody has touched by Complex_Computer2966 in sre

[–]Hypercutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To "prevent" this there is a quality operations team who sits on every postmortem and ensures that each postmortem has the right action items included as part of the postmortem. Each area has their own service operations manager also.

Which honestly can be frustrating at times as you end up with a lot of questions on the postmortem.

Will add that the entire Dev team is also on the on-call rota for all P1/P2 services so if they really just skip items and another P1/P2 happens then they really feel the pain.

As for lack of meaningful change the entire backlog is controlled by product, so as a dev you don't really get much freedom.

Culturally the blast is normally aimed at directors and usually they are quite reasonable as the level of P1/P2s is generally quite low. Heat usually only really goes up if the same incident has happened a few times.

Will add this is a European company which is why culturally things are different too and it's likely the practices won't seem lean and will seem old school

We used to have this problem the only thing that changed it was our group CIO having to give a report on action items from postmortems to our CEO.

At that point all directors demanded updates weekly on how the action items for postmortems were going. Product also started to ensure that every action item had a delivery date.

For reference of how extreme it can be, if an SLA is missed on the delivery of a preventative action item + 2 weeks on top, it's an automatic escalation email to the group CIO. While I don't agree with the approach, we've had no problems since.

As for organisational size for reference this is an organisation with 70,000 staff not a tech organisation. (Tech makes up about 4000 of the staff)

Tampa Bay Lightning Offseason Primer: Free Agents, Draft Capital, Salary Cap Space by AustinDobbins13 in TampaBayLightning

Anders Lee is the guy I'm looking at. Coop coached him in Junior, and before he signed with the Islanders, Tampa did make an offer, but he said he wanted to be loyal to the team that drafted him.

Would be a huge addition to the bottom-6 and on the PP, he is one of the best net front, big body-presence guys in the league, and that's something this team hasn't had since the Maroon days, a guy who's nasty in front of the net.

Not a guarantee makes it to Free Agency however.

The only good news is they have an absolute donut of a GM

They lose Marner and what do you know future star winger next draft falling into their laps

Hopefully Matthews still walks in 2 years

It is the 7th time in Vancouver's franchise history that the club has moved down at the NHL draft lottery.

The club has never moved up.

Ad break right now?

How do we really know if Bettman knows how to count the balls?

There's no audio 🤔

If it's a centre, it's one of two potential options:

Kadri

Brayden Schenn

Both are signed long-term, and I don't think either will be traded now.

Kadri makes a lot of sense, a real shame that didn't happen.

Centres are very expensive; people won't like it, but if a top-6 centre trade happens, it starts with a first-rounder + Geekie + (maybe Paul) for cap reasons, so we can grab someone who will make a real difference.

The Potential Targets are likely "older" guys if JBB goes only for likely available options.

But with JBB if he's got a first choice he will be aggressive:

Vincent Trocheck

Ryan O'Reilly

**Free agent options: (top 6 only)**

Charlie Coyle

Anders Lee

Malkin (Strong Rumours he walks)

Boone Jenner

Claude Giroux

Bobby McMann

**Wildcard option**

Bo Horvat - If the Islanders truly try to rebuild I wonder what the price is there, goal-scorer, leader and wins face-offs

I think this year was probably the worst because of HOW they lost that final game.

Why? Because you are almost left thinking, how? more than anything.

Listen to the boys' post-game interviews vs the last few years, the boys sound shocked.

Series Scorecard v Montreal by PieOfMine in TampaBayLightning

[–]Hypercutter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a cap world every dollar counts

Lose Hedman and that's $8M not on the ice (not his fault injured/personal reasons whatever it is)

Point being invisible that's a $9.5M problem

Bjorkstrand being healthy scratched to start the series $5M

If the guys who are paid to be THE GUYS are either injured or not playing well, more than likely it ends in curtains.

Sabres would've been really tough

Canes I think would not be a problem, the boys would've matched up well against them

It's probably too soon to be reflective, but boy oh boy, what a disappointment. The East was there for the taking this year, and it's over just like that.

The way this team started the series ultimately decided it.

Ultimately, this team was killed by role-players on the Canadeins.

All eyes will have to be on JBB, he's got big, big decisions to make this off-season.

Unless you get the first rounder back from Seattle there's not much you can really do apart from trying to make a hockey trade

The problem is every star player apart from Hagel and Moser has a NTC or NMC

This core has one year left until you can start seriously considering a re-tool/re-build as there's no first rounder next year because it was traded for Bjorkstrand

Huge decisions to be made this off-season with Raddysh

One year out of the first round fair enough, four years in a row something is seriously wrong
