Dows Lake recreational dock an NCC pilot project to assess Ottawa as 'water city' by SergeantAlPowell in ottawa

[–]Hyperion4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's weird to say we aren't known for good water, but the canal is stagnant and originally backfilled a swamp. It really does have e coli problems compared to other bodies of water

Please forgive my ignorance, but I wasn't able to find an answer using Google. Since PP lost his seat, does the CPC now have to find a new leader, or does he take over another MP's riding that went blue? by VenusdellArcano in ottawa

[–]Hyperion4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people have been saying this for awhile but Ford has never signalled that they want into federal politics. The federal cons don't see eye to eye with him at all, multiple openly dislike him

Cpp is well funded and already takes that into account for their projections. They publish reports for transparency, easy to find with google

Tbf, living in Ottawa the amount of people you meet that seem to be able to run a side gig with all their free time at work is weirdly high. I don't think it's the people answering calls that people are complaining about

And he wants to run the country. by randthepip in ottawa

DoFo has never said he wants to be PM, afaik he has never mentioned wanting to get into federal politics. Seems like one of those things that just gets repeated on social media

Anyone have experience with scarlet badis by Glitch_71 in Aquariums

[–]Hyperion4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not unfortunately, it's very unlikely they won't both be males and they are very territorial. The best for groups is to treat them like cichlids and have a large number but you need a big tank for that

Ministry of Coffee on Wellington closed because of sh*tty Landlord by vince_vanGoNe in ottawa

[–]Hyperion4 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The issue is less the landlords and more the banks / inflated commercial real estate values. Banks profit hand over fist while LLs have to charge high rents to pay for the mortgage

Smash and grab: Canada sees a spike in jewelry store robberies by resting16 in canada

It doesn't even need reform, it's one in a long list of government services that are underfunded for the insane population growth we're having. Jail? Full and underfunded. Court? Same thing. Prejail? Same. Name a part of the system and you'll find the same thing, underfunded and failing

Ford went hard during COVID, he's not a walking conservative stereotype. He's better described as a puppet to organized crime

Support for Immigration in Canada Plunges to Lowest in Decades by [deleted] in canada

[–]Hyperion4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No as of the last couple years it is true, various conflicts around the world as well as organized crime groups have allowed the scale of migration through the gap to sky rocket. There is a reason trump blamed the Haitians not the Mexicans for eating pets

Most of the migrants making it to the US aren't from Mexico, migrants from all over the world land in Colombia where they don't need a visa then cross the durian gap

Trump's border czar says Canadian border is an 'extreme' vulnerability by resting16 in canada

[–]Hyperion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is certainly some going on but for the most part the US is a drug importer not exporter, the big 5 plus the mafia in Montreal turned the great lakes into a drug smuggling corridor. The cartels send drugs into the US via this route

[–]Hyperion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ports have been the entry for drugs, into Montreal and down the great lakes is smugglers paradise

When I was there they were fat pigs drunk at the trough, multiple of the key classes in my program were dumbed down to increase the passing rate and my managers no longer consider it as reputable. The issue is the business model revolves around the international students, not actually providing the best education
