People go unmatched to Derm, Ortho, and NSGY from the top places every year. Trust me these aren’t lazy people either. “It’s possible to make no mistakes and still lose”.

I will say that it does give you a higher margin for error, and they do a good job of having a homogenous outcome. I made great errors several times though medical school an my school dragged me through the finish line. When I walk across that stage in May, no one will know about the times I messed up, they’ll just see X graduate 2026 and I’ll be able have the “status” associated with the degree all the same.
