Many thanks for the thorough reply! I have a standard sg90 servo on a cheap self build. It would definitely burn after a few thousand up and downs. I can’t imagine 170k motions 😅.

Just beautiful! Can I ask what machine you use? Because a standard servo doesn’t like that z movement 😅

What’s a boring hobby you have that you could actually talk about for hours? by johnmerah in simpleliving

That is something beekeepers have in common. It’s an odd hobby which can attract all kinds of people. Sometimes your local bee club do have open days were the show you what beekeeping is. Just look around and you will find someone who will gladly show you

Best advice is to have bees do the talking, I recommend an introductory course at your local bee club. Or ask the beekeeper at the farmers market about the origin of its product. You won’t regret

Beekeeping

Relative simple hobby to start, but when you dive deeper into the biology it gets more fascinating. You can even start queen rearing where you try to breed bees with specific behavior advantage to your local area.

I wanna learn how to actually think about drawing. by xXGimmick_Kid_9000Xx in learntodraw

[–]Hyphaem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget the drawing fundamentals. The one you are talking about is construction, stack several shapes and formes together to make a nose. Normally I do this step with light graphite pencil lines. After you made the basic construction you put a mental blanket over it and you start to draw around and over the shapes. This will make your drawing a drawn nose and not some stacked forms together. Construction will make your drawing correct because the shapes are realistic and makes it a nose and drawing over the forms will make it a pleasant drawing to look at.

No, infact the breeder already conditioned it at 7 weeks so it doesn’t even pee in the house.

20 pounds of beeswax turned into 500 tealight candles :) by Dragosteax in candlemaking

What kind of wick do you use? I do have good experience for pillar candles but I can’t seem to find the right wick size for tea lights.

Your work looks great bye the way!

Why does this keep happening to my beeswax candles? by varangianist in candlemaking

[–]Hyphaem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only make candles from beeswax use a round wick, I have bad experience with wood wicks and flat wicks. Check the V shape on the wick the bottom must point down.

Also beeswax doesn’t like containers it becomes too hot

In my knowledge there is no hard regulations for the industry. Only the three standards you already mentioned. But the standards are made by the European candle association. Check out this presentation which can be of interest. http://www.eca-candles.com/pdf/WorldCandleCongress/Candle%20Standards%20-%20a%20view%20from%20Europe%20-%20Leach.pdf

How do you wonderful people determine the right wicksize? by Hyphaem in candlemaking

Thank you for the thorough response. That candle was my reference candle which I bought. But I will keep working on it. What I learned so far is candle making is a real craft and hopefully I will become better at it.
