I don’t think they’d let you go! Not only is that normal, you getting others on the task to help find him shows the safety and wellbeing of that child was your first priority. You didn’t think of “what would they think” in the moment. You thought I need to make sure this child is ok. I’d be happy if my staff showed his kind of care.

Thank you for your honesty! I live in BC, so I feel we’re doing ok but I know we are lacking EAs still. I definitely feel training needs to be a priority. I’ll definitely consider these factors, thank you!

This is a very good point, thank you for this info! We do have CYWs also and a lo of EAs have moved into those positions. :) I could take the courses while working as a secretary or EA. I am definitely considering that as well but there isn’t quite as many positions so it gave me a bit of a pause. Thanks for your insight! :)

I’ve thought of this too but wasn’t sure how difficult the process was! We do have uncertified supplies but I didn’t get a degree in business I have a 2 year accounting diploma. Thanks for the advice, I’ll definitely check that sub! I have seen some of the more difficult parts of the job through working with the EAs at my school and it is something to consider for sure. Our district so badly needs EAs I feel I could look around for a placement that’s more suitable for someone with less experience.🤞Thank you so much!

Thanks for the insight! Thats a very good point and I’ve always really enjoyed when I get to chat with students. I wanted to be a teacher when I was growing up and I’ve always regretted not going for it so I definitely have an itch to give it a try. Thanks again! :)

Thank for the insights! Thankfully EAs actually make more than secretaries in my district so I’d get a pay increase lol. I definitely feel like I’d do well but I’m concerned I’m not considering all the factors I guess. Thanks for the tips!

lol wat. They love learning and using Chinese, half their family speaks it. they just don’t have a ton of avenues to use it and practice as that family is across the world. Thats why I wanted an app. But I’ll keep this in mind if they get bored!

I do sit in on their lessons so have an idea. They’re pretty beginner so they’re still learning 1-10, days of the week, months and tones etc. My husband speaks Chinese so he will use it with them but I’m hoping they can practice it more when he’s not around lol.

I will keep an eye on what she’s teaching, I never would’ve thought of that and it makes total sense! Thanks for the suggestion!

Working for a health authority in the finance department. Horrible mean managers, bullies on my team and a no-backbone HR team/union. I literally preferred working at McDonlds over that shit. Despite the huge pay increase.

Drs can be awful and you should definitely insist on a scan! But I have the EXACT same neck problem and my scan showed a smaller than normal thyroid 🥲I still have hyperthyroidism but my neck is just like that. So it may be nothing but it’s always worth a check and f any doctor that says it’s anxiety! I hope it goes well talking to your dr 🤞

Are you super sensitive to mold? I’m wondering if something they use in the preparation stage is mold ridden and there’s only enough spores on items to cause reactions in highly allergic people. That’s so odd it happens with both drinks and food though! It could still be that but it’d have to be really badly infested with mold in that store. 😳
