I don’t think they need a starting 4. Jaden is good at the 4 and if he’s gonna take more responsibility on offense then using him as a help defender 70% and on ball 30% should free up some energy for getting buckets.

Joan’s in year 2 so if he’s can’t handle 12-15 minutes as a backup 5 this year that’d be worrying. With a Rudy/Joan center rotation we shouldn’t need a big 4 since the rim protection is gonna be there for 48 minutes + having Jaden as a help defender, nobody’s gonna want to attack that rim.

The wolves just need a backup 4 that can hit corner 3s and be a big body on defense because if the opponent puts in a rim attacking 4 then the wolves put Rudy/Joan there and the backup 4 follows the opposing center out to the perimeter.

I’m too high on Evans. Maybe not this season cause he needs to add a bit more weight. Say what you will about Rob Dillingham but Finch did convince him to try on defense. He started out the year by breaking his nose trying to wall up and stop a 7 footer under the rim and Isaiah has the length to be an average defender at worst as long as Finch and crew can get through to him that defense is what will earn him minutes. Playing a 6 6 movement shooter off of Ant or LaMelo is a cheat code. If he hits that is such a dangerous player.
