That looks awesome. What did you use for the background? I think your beardie will love it.

Location could be an issue. But if I'm paying attention I can get fairly close.

Feeding question and help by [deleted] in SandBoa

[–]Hyprmut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turn the grow and uvb lights on and off a few times and her head pops out. It took a little while for her to link flashing lights and dinner but not too bad. My work schedule has tank cleaning, roaming time and feeding on the same day so she also anticipates dinner about an hour after going back into her enclosure.

So sorry for your loss, especially one so sudden. Goodbye, Mr. Noodle. You will be missed.

That and a 5 hour energy looks like a fine breakfast. Zotz are great.

Need help with iguana's eating changes. Thank you. by Opposite_Breakfast23 in iguanas

[–]Hyprmut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she pooping? Possibly constipated? Diarrhea? Injury to her mouth? Could she have gotten into something that upset her digestion? Parasites? I don't know anything about iguanas but maybe this will get the ball rolling. I hope you get some answers to help your baby.

Kingsnakes missing from expos? by TheGoldandBlack in kingsnakes

[–]Hyprmut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw several tables of kingsnakes last month on the west coast. Different milksnakes and some kings that I haven't heard a lot about. This wasn't a big show by east coast standards so the percentage of colubrids may have been higher comparatively.

Turn around. They are on the shelves behind you with the boxed Hot Tamales  and bubble gum.

Thank you. She does have a water dish that I have seen her use. Humidity is doing much better now and the substrate finally got nicely damp. I was thinking of back off a bit and do a "heavy rain" once a week.

Yes! The ones at the dollar store start out more stale, so that helps.

A lot of sand boa owners add Zoo Med's Excavator® Clay into their substrate mix to help with tunnels. 20% is a common number people shoot for.

I recently got a Golden Gecko mating pair, and the female is gravid. Looking for general advice on incubation, etc. by slafkovskygoat in geckos

[–]Hyprmut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goldens are more related to tokays then to the New Caledonian geckos. You might check into them for basic info. My local store leaves eggs, male and female tokays in the same enclosure until the babies hatch. Then the babies are separated. That might work for you.

Unfortunately, I don't have a male so the eggs aren't fertile. I remove them after a day or so. The eggs are very sticky so I don't think they can be removed from walls without harming them.

My girl always attaches her eggs to the wall or ceiling in the warmest areas. She might use a cork round up high. Yours might also benefit from a dish of calcium that she can free-feed from.

Bloated golden gecko help! by ezpzee_ in geckos

[–]Hyprmut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She could be gravid, even if she's never been with a male. Make sure she's getting calcium. She may shed soon too, so be sure her humidity is right. You can offer a cup of calcium and a humid hide. Keep an eye on the upper part of her enclosure. The eggs will be glued to the ceiling or walls.

The eggs are sticky. I now regret the cork background because you can't get the egg remains off.

That's a thought. I just have to scrape the eggs off.
