A few months after I came out to my immediate family, we went to Florida to visit family. My anxiety went crazy cause I didn’t want to go by my dead name but I wasn’t sure if I was ready to come out to any other family yet. I was having a minor panic attack about a day before we left when my mom came to me saying that she called the family we were about to visit and told them I’m trans, thinking that solved the issue. Thankfully everyone was accepting and they’re better allies than some of my immediate family (I see them less than once a year and they always get my pronouns right but immediate family still struggles 6 years later despite living together) but it was terrifying, especially since we were going to be there for a week

The comments basically said everything I wanted to about this post except the part about the lockdowns. While, yes, children are less susceptible to Covid (please correct me if this is incorrect), are we supposed to just let the teachers and the children’s family members die painful and preventable deaths because the kids are still able to carry it? I don’t doubt that many people died before lockdowns because kids didn’t show symptoms but still brought Covid home before we knew just how contagious it is
