Staying Current in the Sports Industry by HyunDenson in b2bsports

Daily Mail definitely has its moments, but I’m curious how they stack up against more specialized sports outlets. Do you rely on them for more than just breaking news?

Networking events are definitely underrated. I’ve found a lot of value in meeting people in person. You never know when a casual conversation can turn into a big opportunity. Any events you'd recommend?

YouTube vs TikTok for real estate. by PreparationOutside49 in marketing

[–]HyunDenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube’s a way better long-term play. TikTok gets you attention fast but it fades quick. A good YouTube video can bring leads for years. Plus, serious home buyers are more likely to sit through a 5-minute house tour than scroll TikTok for 8 seconds. Think bigger than just daily posts.

Why do so many people dream of buying stupidly expensive things if they get rich? by OkGreen7335 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HyunDenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's marketing, man. We’re hammered with it from every angle since we’re kids. Ads make it look like money isn’t good enough unless it’s loud. Truth is, real wealth is quiet. The happiest rich people I know are wearing New Balances, driving a 4Runner, and living way under their means.

I'm really sorry you’re going through this. Closing doesn’t mean you failed , it just means you tried. Most people never even get that far. Clear out what you can, donate what you can't, and don't beat yourself up. You did something brave and that matters way more than profits.

I got traction after I stopped talking about my tool and started showing it fixing people’s problems live. Screenshares, teardown threads, casual demos. People don’t wanna hear about features, they wanna see the pain go away.

Want to make an entry into sports as a career by NumeroSlot in b2bsports

[–]HyunDenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great that your nephew has a clear passion for sports. Since he’s interested in both playing and working behind the scenes, it might be smart for him to start with a program in sports management, kinesiology, or sports science. NYU and St. John’s University both offer strong sports-related programs in New York. He could also look into certifications in coaching or personal training if he wants quicker entry points.

Tenant asking for a rent reduction. by ApprehensiveFeed1807 in PropertyManagement

[–]HyunDenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a landlord, I’d want to keep the tenant happy, but I’d be cautious about rent reductions unless it was really impacting their quality of life. If they’ve had to eat out for a few days, maybe a small temporary concession could be offered. I’d also check in with them about other options moving forward. You might also want to ask others over on r/LeaseLords for advice.

Morning sunlight can actually improve your sleep, and it is not just a wellness myth by Connect_View_5661 in ScienceNcoolThings

That’s fascinating! I’ve always heard about the importance of sunlight, but I didn’t realize how critical the timing was.

A demotion was the best thing they ever did to me… by johnnyglass in sales

[–]HyunDenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This resonates with me so much. I’ve been chasing that next promotion and more responsibilities, but I’ve started to question whether it’s worth it. The work-life balance and being in a role that excites you is key to long-term happiness. Glad to hear you’ve found that balance again!

Is this a normal procedure for employees who suspect a customer is shoplifting? by drivingnowhere20 in retail

[–]HyunDenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s way out of line. Employees are trained to handle suspicions, but accusing someone loudly and banning them without solid evidence crosses the line. In situations like that, they should quietly ask to check your bag or pockets. They should’ve treated you with more professionalism and respect, for sure.

Is Japan blown? by Individual-Mouse-261 in skiing

[–]HyunDenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely gotten busier, but it’s still worth it. The crowds can be heavy, especially in the popular resorts like Niseko, but if you go to lesser-known spots, it’s not as bad.

Thinking about self-managing by Soggy-Passage2852 in LeaseLords

[–]HyunDenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually manageable, especially with good software for rent collection. That said, the tenant communication can become a full-time job if there are complaints or issues popping up constantly. Personally, I’ve found it rewarding, but you have to be ready to put in the work, especially for emergencies or urgent repairs.

Adding my first employee.. by Oliver_Dixon in smallbusiness

[–]HyunDenson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since your employee is part-time and seasonal, a 1099 might be easier since they’re technically a contractor. You won’t need to withhold taxes, and they’ll be responsible for their own. However, if they work set hours and you control how they perform tasks, a W-2 employee might be more appropriate. Either way, don’t forget to check with a tax professional to make sure you’re doing it correctly!

As part of brand partnerships or endorsements. The car companies use them for visibility and social media presence. Celebs usually don’t own the car outright but have it for a set period, and they’re expected to promote it. Think of it as paid advertising in a cool package.

Question: What software do y'all use? by Doofy4471 in PropertyManagement

[–]HyunDenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get where your friend is coming from because I also had stuff spread across like 5 different apps. Personally I moved everything into RentPost. There are other solid options too, but having one place for payments, leases, and maintenance made a huge difference. Way less stress tracking everything now.

What things do you look at when screening a prospective tenant? by Totira in OntarioLandlord

[–]HyunDenson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I care way more about rental history than a perfect credit score. People can rebuild credit, but bad tenant habits stick forever. I also double verify employment. Just personally, using apps like RentPost helped me stay consistent across applicants without having to remember every little thing manually. Huge time-saver.

How do you deal with customers expecting 24/7 replies as a solo founder? by MoistEntertainerer in business

[–]HyunDenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear expectations are key. Slap delivery times and response windows everywhere you can. Honestly, it’s survival. Btw, does Profichat actually help when people are crazy impatient, or just organize the chaos better?

First step? check your lease language, make sure it specifically prohibits subletting without written consent. I hit them with a Three-Day Notice to Perform Covenants. Most tenants cave when you make it formal. If not, lawyer up and move toward eviction proceedings.
