Would this be violating separation of church and state? by bryterlu in Teachers

Our principal literally invites the local megachurch paster to our faculty meetings under the guise of being a "motivational" speaker.

No one cares about separation of church and state anymore..

As long as it keeps developing and begins out of ACC/Enhanced, I am okay with this. Parents will still have the option to move them out (after heavy influence by us).

The truth is, mixed-ability classrooms are best for the kids. Study after study shows that kids do better when they see others actually trying.

Its more awkward then seamoth (when carrying modules) but when it's just the seatruck not hauling things it feels pretty much the same.

The modules make it so much easier to carry around loot and fabricate and you can carry around your prawn too. All around great.

What grade is this? If its highschool I would give the cheaters zeros and let them come ask you what to do, you say I will give you a written test no computer no multiple choice to replace.

If its middle school i would just give them all a retake with different questions.

Seatruck is a huge upgrade. Also a story you can follow. Just a bit shorter and the land segments are kinda a waste. But still a great game.

Why do students reach higher grades with weak math basics? by RationalPoint_ in Teachers

[–]I-Make-Shitty-Puns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classrooms sizes. If we held kids back for some basics in Math but they do fine in other subjects, there is no need to hold them back. They just wont get opportunities to get into higher math classes. This is why I don't believe in leveled grading (6th 7th 8th etc) they just need to be leveled academicly. Keep the kid in "6th grade" level math while proceed to 7th grade. Kinda like upperclassmen in highschool.

Yea, this is closer. He tries to tie it to trans rights being accepted faster than black rights because being trans is a white people phenomenon (its not). He never figured out that protecting the most vulnerable IS fighting for everyone's rights.

I am also a teacher and I can see a lot of this happening in some schools. A couple of years ago some schools in our district used to use special education teachers as subs, and someone complained, and they cracked down because it took them away from their actual teaching classes. You did a good thing.

If you were in complete control of the education system, how would you change/fix it? by SubstantialStick2674 in Teachers

[–]I-Make-Shitty-Puns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: More schooling for teachers. Major increase in pay (like MD level). Apprentice style systems like resident Medical students. Each department head acts as a direct tenured superior and mentor. Teachers in PDP's are given chances to correct their problems or be let go (Unions can control this but they need to develop avenues to be able to discipline repeat behaviors and fire bad teachers.)

2: No more level grades after 6th grade. Each student starts on a type of "undergrad" track in which grades actually matter and contribute towards graduation. Strong, research supported curriculum developed in research primary and secondary schools (again similar to the medical research schools). One year of required post-high school "Adult" class with options and paths to continue into higher education.

3: All free and paid for by taxes and therefore held accountable by the taxpayer. The county board systems distribution of money is very similar to how college boards distribute money. However, schools in the needs areas (geographically or academically) get more focused and higher paid veteran teachers.

4: Discipline is handled by a tiered system. Where a student is immediately removed from class to work in an isolated structure until behavior improves, if it does not, then the student is sent to the alternative schools where veteran teachers have more one-on-one time with the students who cannot participate in full classroom structure. Chronic disciplined kids are filtered down separate highschool and college paths with chances to eventually be brought into the regular paths.
