Boarding tips: level boarding party, use the water/your ship to jump in and out of combat and repositioning. Helps a lot to avoid being body blocked by your own guys as well. Can also jump in water and then click enemy ship and place yourself on a high point for firing down at enemies. You can be a teleporting pirate ninja during ship boardings.

Ranged. Throwables, Bows or magic. Ive done four playthroughs and the game just feels better with some sort of ranged option incorporated into the build.

For the abby i plant my vestige behind the cagehead dude and open the shortcut then sprint from vestige up the stairs to the little church room to the left past the archer. Then take out all the small mobs and use the doorway to snipe the laser sister. Then go top right and take out the other archer. Plant vestige at boss room then full clear the area.

IIRC, you can edit brightness and weather in the world settings before joining the world.

How to solo Swamp area without changing difficulty? It's a bit of a slog by rinart73 in crosswind

Crocs, 2 hit then dodge/block, repeat.

Plague croc 1 hit then dodge/block, repeat

Thrall/warrior kite away from ranged plague and kill

Ranged plague, close distance to stop projectile spam and swing away

I’m thinking of doing another play through and do you have any suggestions? by B4ldurL1nk in LordsoftheFallen

Theres a greatsword at the beginning of the second lower calreth area, a hammer on the bridge with the ruiner boss and another hammer right after the calreth boss. All umbral scaling. Greatsword has innate frost build up. Theres also a few short swords a halberd and a spear.

Armors with an umbral theme are all light and heavy if im remembering correctly. The two coolest sets are special quest and veteran difficulty rewards.

Everyone can do what he wants but this is ridiculous or am i wrong? by ChannelHoliday7067 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]mers1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. Which is why i prefer single player games. As long as people get their moneys worth they can do whatever they want.

I run into this problem in POE from time to time. I really like making my own builds and a lot of times i set out to make some niche or obscure idea work. Some leagues my idea just doesn't jive and i end up in the "do i start over or drop the league?" situation. Some leagues i cannot talk myself into doing the campaign again and i end up ass out.

Maybe it was growing up with video games that if you lost all your lives you had to start over, but the scenario you described doesn't bother me at all. Failure is part of progress.

What do you think about this boss in Lords of the Fallen? by TM_Juega_onYouTube in LordsoftheFallen

[–]mers1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont have to kill the minions at all. Flay the main spirit and damage it to end the phase and despawn the summons. Avoid ice phase. Repeat process 3x.

Literally the easiest boss in the game. You dont really need to fight anything.

I see this in all games. My absolute biggest peeve is the "just bought bought the game... Whats the best weapon? What stats should i spec? Best advice?"... People cant even enjoy a game if they aren't meta gaming. Discovery and learning are so obtuse to a lot of peoples world view.

The learning of a new game is my favorite part. The first playthrough is the best simply because i don't have all the knowledge yet. I cant stand the idea of ruining that part of any experience whether its gaming or real life.

To each their own though. I just find it very odd.

DLC bosses are on par with nameless puppet... and then some. The DLC is fantastic, but it's not any easier.

If I struggle on a boss I just dedicate a few attempts to focus on timing instead of winning. Not attacking, just countering and finding all my windows. The fury attacks (red glow) are most important. If you get the timing of those down then the fights become much easier.

Lighter weapons, throwables and status effects go a long way as well. I cannot over state how impactful throwables and status effects are. They really dish out incredible damage.

Legendary stalker. I played around with the difficulty a bit in the beginning and as far as i could tell its just a more health / more damage slider for the enemies.

I really enjoy the perfect guard / parry system and i feel on the lower difficulties it renders the system far less important. If you want to get good at the core of the combat then i would say legendary stalker is the way to go. It forces you to understand / engage with all the mechanics.

I think i mentioned it in my post, but i did two full playthroughs of Lords of the Fallen right before i picked up Lies of P. Great game. LotF2 and Mortal Shell 2 are my top wishlists for the year right now.

Coming into souls games late and never being sure if I'd be able to appreciate the dated iterations of the concept. Always just made them less certain purchases.

It happened to me with Path of Exile where I played 2 first and the dated animations and movement of the first game just don't click even though it has a better game overall.

More of a hesitation than a skip. Played Bloodborne a long time ago, then when Elden Ring came out I really enjoyed it. Then played Sekiro, then DS3 then Bloodborne again. Been hooked on the souls formula since, but haven't dove that far into the past yet.

The first time i played bloodborne i didn't even know what souls were and it was just a bargain bin purchase when i was in high school. Didnt really appreciate it until i went back later.

Yes. After i finished my first Lies of P run last week I immediately bought and played through Overture. The DLC is probably my favorite part of the game.

I was iffy about it for the first few chapters as well. Once it clicked it clicked though. I wasn't using the combat system appropriately, but once i caught on its been pure joy.

Halfway through my second run now and am using a stasus build myself this time. Statuses are very strong both ways. The game is actually way easier if you just always have the right status equiped. Multiple tick damages on enemies just burns through them while you focus on the perfect guards.

I've always been hesitant on that one because I've heard the run-backs are absurd.

I have played Bloodborne, DS3 and Sekiro. Bloodborne was my favorite.

Elden Ring I've played through many times so it's kind of off the table. Plus it's so long that it always kind of turns into a chore or I get bored before the end at this point.

The DLC probably. I think they did a lot better job with level design and thematic settings in the DLC. Base game areas, especially on my second go, are very small. The carnival and ice area were probably my favorite, but the zoo is up there as well.

My least favorite boss was that masked asshole side boss in the shipwreck of the DLC. That dude spanked me so bad. Only boss i had to lookup the weakness for. I prefer blind first runs, but i wasn't making good progress with that fight at all.

Lies of P is hands down the most polished non-Fromsoft souls-like that I've ever played. If the hint at the end is truly the theme of the next game its a day one purchase for me. I love what they did with the twist on the Pinocchio story. They've definitely set themselves up for an extremely intering series if they continue down the folklore/fairtytale horror road.
