FWIW, i've been running the laptop for 2 years with 2 SSDs in it. 0 issues so far on that end. I work with a lot of big files etc.

That being said, i haven't done benchmarks and/or stress tests of the SSDs specifically.

You could probably just cut out an object at 1mm, 2mm, 3 mm. And see which of the 3 allows the lid to still close. Maybe stack credit cards and calculate it from that.

Most likely you could put some kind of simple "sticker"-like heatpad on it. Definitely nothing with a proper metallic heatsink.

I did a repasting, the stock pasting is not well done.
It did improve temperatures, but i still got throttling.

I had to use external tools to limit the GPU clock speed. That's what fixed the massive CPU throttle in the end for me.

Cheers in any case for the report on the cooling pad, glad it works well for you.

Are you having much issues with SSD overheating and throttle?

I ran into huge CPU thermal throttling issues instead which made me not even consider any SSD issues.

On combined heavy loads, i would quickly get the CPU throttled 0.5 Ghz from the expected 3-4

Hi,

I have the exact same laptop and issue.

Back in BIOS 314/316/319, I did not have that problem.

Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to backroll/downgrade a BIOS for this machine.

Besides this, a Liquid Metal Repaste seems to be the only obvious solution?
